The Action Center
One prioritized list of everything needing attention, with one-click push to CORE. · 4 min read
What gathers here#
The Action Center is the work side of the AI Advisor: the full Executive Brief plus every task the Advisor has suggested, across all your KPIs, in one triage list. It reads from stored analysis, so it stays put regardless of the date range the dashboard is showing.

- The activity strip across the top keeps score: Pending tasks (the number that needs you), how many you've Added to CORE, how many are Completed, and the Advisor's AI analyses this month.
- Tasks arrive grouped by KPI (Aging AR, Utilization, and so on), in the same order as your dashboard, plus groups from boards like Staffing and Scorecard whose suggested moves also land here.
- If you hold several personas, the Viewing as switcher scopes the list to one role's dashboard, or shows all your roles combined. It's the same setting as the dashboard's title switcher, so a change on either screen carries to the other.
- The whole page is AI content, so it honors the ✦ AI Advisor header control: with the Action Center module unchecked, the page swaps for a pointer at that control instead.
The Executive Brief#
The brief is the Advisor's cross-KPI read of the firm: a one-line headline with a health dot (green, amber, or red), a short summary, up to three findings ranked by severity, and any patterns noticed across metrics.
- Refresh re-analyzes with the latest data on demand: the brief shows its generated timestamp, and anything that changed since then isn't in that read.
- Brief-derived suggestions appear in the task list under From the Executive Brief, alongside the per-KPI groups.
- It's AI advice: verify against the dashboard's drill-downs before acting on large decisions.
Triage: pending, handled, restored#
Tasks work like an inbox. The list shows what's pending: suggestions you haven't acted on yet. Acting on one moves it out of the way without deleting anything.
- + CORE To-Do pushes the task into BQE CORE as a real to-do, assigned and dated, so it enters your firm's normal workflow.
- Check it off when it's done, or Dismiss what doesn't apply. A dismissed task offers a brief Undo, and a dismissed suggestion is never re-proposed.
- Handled tasks (in CORE, done, or dismissed) tuck into a Show n handled section at the bottom of their group, where any of them can be restored to pending.
- Each group collapses to its header with a pending count; Expand all / Collapse all works the whole list at once.
“n similar”: how duplicates are handled#
The Advisor analyzes each KPI on its own, so the same underlying problem (say, one client's overdue balance) can produce near-identical suggestions under several KPIs. Rather than pad the list, the Action Center clusters them.
- One representative row shows, with an expandable n similar suggestions link beneath it.
- Clustering is conservative: tasks group only when they cite the same dollar figures with related wording, or are worded nearly identically.
- Every clustered task stays individually actionable inside the expansion; handling the visible row doesn't auto-handle its siblings.
Clearing stale suggestions#
Suggestions age. When pending tasks are older than a cutoff, an Older than control appears next to the Tasks header: pick 7, 14, 30, or 60 days and dismiss everything older in one click.
- Bulk-dismissed tasks land in their groups' handled sections like any other dismissal, so any one of them can be restored.
- Even without the button, suggestions nobody touches clear themselves after 30 days, keeping the list about now.
Tasks vs To-Dos#
Two words, one lifecycle. Tasks are the Advisor's suggestions and live here in COREboards. Once you push one to BQE CORE, it becomes a To-Do: a real CORE record that shows up in CORE itself and in the My To-Dos pane on the sidebar.
- The link is live in both directions: complete the to-do in CORE (or the To-Dos pane) and the task here is marked done; check the task here and the CORE to-do completes.
- A task already in CORE shows its to-do state instead of the + CORE To-Do button, so nothing gets pushed twice.
