Straight answers: what writes to CORE, who sees money, pricing, personas, AI and privacy. · 3 min read
Common questions#
Does COREboards change my CORE data?
Only when you explicitly ask it to: logging or submitting time, publishing a staffing plan, creating a to-do, review, phase, or launched project. Dashboards and reports are read-only, and everything COREboards writes stays visible and editable in CORE.
Who can see financial numbers?
Money is visible to firm-wide roles (Principal, CFO, admins). Other roles see hours and status with dollar amounts hidden automatically.
What's the difference between To-Dos and Tasks?
To-Dos are your real BQE CORE to-dos. Tasks are the AI Advisor's suggestions in the Action Center; push one to CORE and it becomes a to-do too.
How fresh is the data?
Refreshed automatically about every 30 minutes, instantly when CORE reports a change, and on demand with Refresh from CORE.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. The Advisor only sees compact summaries of your firm's numbers to write its commentary, and your data is not used to train models.
What happens if we cancel?
Your CORE data is untouched; it always lives in CORE. Anything COREboards wrote there (time entries, allocations, projects) stays yours.
Accounts, pricing, and devices#
Do I need a COREboards password?
No. You sign in with your BQE CORE account, and CORE handles the password. There's no separate COREboards login to create, forget, or reset.
What does COREboards cost?
Pricing is metered per person: everyone who can track time in your firm's CORE account counts, whether or not they ever open COREboards, and the subscription is billed to the firm (monthly or annual). Firm admins see the exact headcount, rate, and invoices under Billing, in the settings that open when you click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. coreboards.app works in any phone browser, and the COREboards iOS app behaves exactly like the website: same sign-in, same boards. The sidebar becomes a ☰ menu and panels open full-screen.
Boards, roles, and visibility#
Who sees my timecard?
Your time follows CORE's normal approval flow: entries start as drafts, you Submit them, and your firm's approvers review them in CORE (statuses show as draft, submitted, approved, billed, or rejected). Managers with team-level boards see your hours and status; dollar amounts stay limited to firm-wide financial roles.
What is a persona, and why do I see a different board than my colleague?
Your firm maps each role to a dashboard, so a principal, a PM, and an architect each land on the board built for them. The Viewing as control (on the dashboard, Action Center, and Staffing) lets eligible users preview another persona's view, faithfully: it shows exactly what that role sees, including what's hidden from it.
Can we rename the boards?
Yes. A firm admin can relabel any dashboard under Dashboard names in Settings; the new names apply firm-wide, everywhere the board's title appears.
