What's new: every change in one place

Help has a What's new page listing every change to COREboards since launch, newest first. Filter by kind of change (new, improved, fixed) and by area, and click an area under any entry to see only that area. The Report button downloads exactly the entries you are viewing, as a PDF or a CSV. It opens inside the app with your sidebar in place, and is also on the public Help Center.

  • New

See hours logged with no plan behind them

    ··

The dashboard's staffing widget has an Off plan option that lists people with hours logged on phases that had no plan that week, sorted by amount, with the project and phase. Its Report button opens a new Planned vs logged section in the staffing plan report (by person and week, looking back 4, 8 or 13 weeks, with CSV), and Staff Utilization gains a Planned hrs column.

  • Improved

Answer a performance review on the Record tab

Each review on an employee's Record tab now has Answer, which opens it in place: pick an option and add a comment for each rated question, and type into each free-text one. Save writes it to BQE CORE, and Save and complete also completes the review once every question is answered. Only the reviewer named in CORE or a firm admin can answer; others with access can read it.

  • Improved

Set your pay calendar and yearly time off

    ·

Settings has a new People & Pay section. Choose how often your firm pays (weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or monthly), and the pay-period sheet and its CSV follow it. Set a yearly PTO and sick allowance, by calendar year or hire anniversary. Where CORE keeps no balance, People works one out from the allowance and the time off logged this year, and says which source each balance came from.

Money: a finance desk on your CORE books (beta)

The new Money page for principals, CFOs and firm admins shows cash by bank account, receivables, payables and payments to deposit. Enter vendor bills against project phases, edit or delete open bills, and add credit memos. Group payments into one bank deposit. A monthly Close checklist tracks what is approved, finalized and deposited, with sign-off. If the books do not answer, Money says so instead of showing zeros.

  • New

Money can keep the books in QuickBooks Online

    ·

Firms that keep their books in QuickBooks Online can point the Money page at them: a firm admin switches "Money keeps the books in" to QuickBooks on the Connected apps card. Bank balances, bills, deposits and credit memos then read from and write to QuickBooks, with amounts to the cent. On QuickBooks plans that cannot track expenses by customer, a bill saves without the project and says why.

  • New

People: a desk for studio leaders and admins (beta)

    ·

The new People page shows what needs deciding (time-off requests with balances, reviews due, probation ending, anniversaries, unapproved time blocking payroll), a roster with PTO balance, utilization and next review, and a pay-period sheet that splits approved hours into regular, overtime, PTO, sick and comp with CSV export. An employee's profile gains a Record tab to start reviews, add journal notes, log incidents and release an employee in CORE.

  • Improved

Add a potential project from What-If

    ·

The What-If view in Revenue Forecasting now has "+ Add potential project", which opens the new project wizard so you can sketch a pursuit. Each draft pursuit has a Manage link back to the wizard to update its fee, and you can set a pursuit aside and restore it later. These are available to plan editors.

  • Improved

Walk the Directory with arrow keys, with tidier rows

In the Directory, the up and down arrow keys move through the list and open each record beside the panel, and Enter opens the highlighted row. The line under each name now shows title and email, and phone numbers read as (213) 555-0100 on every card and profile, including the Call button.

  • Fixed

Directory opens quickly and lists everyone

    ·

At firms with large client and vendor lists, the Directory could take a minute to open or time out, client profiles took up to 30 seconds, and people past the first 1,000 contacts were missing. The Directory now opens right away with everyone listed, and a client profile shows its details first while money figures load.

  • Fixed

Hide unused looks from today forward

On Resource Allocation's People view, after scrolling back with Earlier, Hide unused still showed people who only had hours in past weeks. It now hides anyone with no hours from today forward, however much history is loaded.

  • Fixed

Phases with the same name are told apart

    ··

Some firms have phases that share a name within one project (two "Design Development" phases, for example), and COREboards showed them identically, so people could not tell which to log time to. The Time Card pickers and rows, Game Plan and Resource Allocation now show the Phase ID after the name whenever it is needed to tell phases apart.

  • Fixed

    Project links open the project

    ··

Project names in profiles and Smart Search results looked like links to that project but opened the Project Center list of all projects. They now open the project itself, and links shared earlier work too.

  • Fixed

Removing hours from the plan sticks

On Resource Allocation, typing 0 into a week whose hours came from a CORE allocation looked fine but the hours came back on the next load. Removing a person from a phase could also fail or undo itself when they had planned hours in past weeks. Zeroing a week now removes the hours in CORE when you publish, and removing someone leaves past weeks untouched.

  • Fixed

Time Card follows CORE's phase time-entry rules

The Time Card's Log panel let you log time on a phase that CORE closes to time entry, or past a phase's locked allocation. It now blocks those entries and explains which CORE rule applies, as Resource Allocation's quick log already did. Long meeting titles in calendar suggestions also show in full when you hover.

  • Improved

Entries held in CORE billing review say so

    ··

Time that CORE is holding in Billing Review used to show as Billed. It now has its own orange "Billing review" status on the Time tab, the WIP workbench, the Time Card and the billing sheet, and COREboards explains why it cannot be changed until it is released in CORE. Reviewers with billing access can also set an entry to Draft, Submitted or Approved from the Time tab's Status column.

  • Improved

Forecast panel explains how it differs from Revenue Forecasting

    ·

The dashboard's Forecast panel and the Revenue Forecasting page can show very different totals for the same month, and both are right. The panel's info tip and its PDF footnote now explain why (the panel spreads remaining contract value across active projects; Revenue Forecasting follows what is planned, staffed and billed), and its link reads "Open Revenue Forecasting".

  • Improved

Resource Allocation shows who changed the plan

Resource Allocation now tells you when a colleague saves or publishes plan changes while you have the board open, with a Reload button. Review has a "Changed by" column, so you can see whose each pending change is before publishing. Publish results also say more: changes held for other project managers' projects are named, a publish already running is flagged, and a failed save gives the actual reason.

  • Fixed

Billed amounts appear when your CORE connection lacks Invoicing

    ··

At firms where the person who connected COREboards does not have CORE's Invoicing module on their own seat, every project read $0 billed. COREboards now reads invoices and payments through another firm admin's seat that does have the module.

  • Fixed

Changing a phase's dates changes only what you edit

    ·

The phase date form on Resource Allocation always rewrote the end date, even when you only moved the start, and failed on fixed-fee phases. It now opens on the phase's current dates, offers "Use suggested end" as a button, and works on every phase type. Saving a fixed-fee phase from Project Center or this form also no longer clears its invoice numbering, memo, terms or retainage settings in CORE.

  • Fixed

Cloning a project respects your project access

    ·

In the new project setup wizard, the list of projects to clone from showed every project in the firm, and a project manager could see another project's fees, team and cost rates through it. The clone list now shows only projects you can open, and cost rates are hidden unless your role allows you to see them.

  • Fixed

Directory contacts show phones and emails, plus a tour

    ·

Contacts synced from CORE contact records were arriving without phone numbers or emails, and pushing your details to a CORE record could duplicate its phone rows. Both are fixed, and editing a contact now saves to CORE. The Directory also has its own help chapter and guided tour, and Billing has a tour that walks the run, a sheet and the invoice preview.

  • Fixed

Project managers' saves and publishes go through

    ·

At some firms, project managers' Resource Allocation edits timed out and slowed other screens, because each save looked up the firm's full project list in CORE. Saves are quick now. Separately, a project manager publishing their own project changes saw the progress spin for five minutes and report lost contact even though everything had saved; progress now follows through to the end.

  • Fixed

Publishing a draft keeps newer changes made in CORE

If someone changed a project's dates, fee, manager or name directly in CORE after you saved a Project Center draft, publishing the draft wrote your older values back over theirs. COREboards now keeps CORE's newer values for anything you did not change yourself, and tells you how many it kept.

  • Fixed

Saved changes show up on every refresh

After saving a change, some page refreshes could still show the old values for up to 15 minutes, depending on which server answered. A saved change now shows everywhere as soon as it is written.

  • New

Approvals: everything CORE has sent you to approve (beta)

    ·

A new Approvals side panel gathers the time, expenses and time-off requests CORE routed to you, with a count in the sidebar. Flags point out overtime, hours over plan, missing memos, large amounts and time off that clashes with the plan. Approve, reject or hold each entry, or approve everything unflagged in one click; rejecting asks for a note. Decisions are written to CORE, and ones made in CORE show up here.

  • New

Billing: run the month's invoicing in COREboards (beta)

    ··

A new Billing page lists every project with unbilled work, schedule amounts due or an open draft. Unfold a row to its billing sheet: each phase's fee, billed to date, unbilled, percent complete and a suggested amount. Hold entries, adjust client hours and watch the invoice preview update. Save the draft to CORE, route it to the PM, finalize or delete it. Sending stays in CORE. Project Center's Invoicing tab is now Billing.

  • New

Directory: clients, employees and vendors in one book (beta)

    ·

A new Directory side panel keeps one contact record per person, even when CORE keeps separate client, employee and vendor records. Tabs for Clients, Employees, Vendors and Contacts filter that book, each row shows its roles, and every row has Call and Email. A contact's card shows the CORE record behind each role and can push your phone and email to CORE. Add, edit, merge and delete contacts; Smart Search finds them too.

  • New

Every client, person and vendor has a profile (beta)

    ··

Click a client, employee or vendor name almost anywhere (Smart Search, My To-Dos, Team & Budget, the A/R drawer, Team Financials, Staff Utilization, Resource Allocation) to open their profile: a one-line situation summary, actions like log a call or add a follow-up, contacts, invoices or bills, projects and a timeline. Opened from a side panel, the profile slides out beside it with the page dimmed; click the name again to close it.

  • New

Log expenses on the Time Card (beta)

The Time Card now has an Expenses view beside Grid and Calendar. Log an expense against a phase using the expense items that project allows, let a mileage rate fill in the amount, attach a receipt that is saved onto the CORE record, and submit or un-submit the week's expenses the same way you do time. Entries lock for editing once CORE approves them, though you can still add a receipt.

  • Improved

Game Plan moves inside Resource Allocation

    ··

Game Plan is the same plan as Resource Allocation, zoomed in to days, so it now lives as the last option in Resource Allocation's view switcher instead of its own sidebar row. Its address, tour and help are unchanged, and the sidebar highlights Resource Allocation while you are in it.

  • Fixed

Dark mode borders and labels are visible again

In dark mode, row labels on the grouped Profitability tiles were drawn in the border color and could not be read, and hundreds of borders, dividers and hover highlights (especially on the Time Card and Resource Allocation) were missing entirely. A few input boxes also showed as light patches. All of these now display correctly in dark mode.

  • Fixed

monday.com items with deleted tasks are no longer hidden

When re-importing from monday.com, an item whose Game Plan task had since been deleted was labeled "already planned" and tucked into a collapsed group, so the board looked empty. Those items now appear in their own open group, "Imported before, task since deleted", and you can choose Import again to bring one back.

  • Fixed

Some tables no longer freeze the page

    ·

On some browsers, usually at a non-standard zoom level, a table whose width fell right at the edge of its box could flip back and forth between layouts until the page stopped responding. This showed up on Resource Allocation's Projects view and the permissions screen. Tables now settle on one layout.

  • Fixed

The privacy mask hides every sensitive figure

    ··

With the privacy mask turned on, a few figures still showed: the EAC margin and CPI on Project Overview, the cost gap in suggested fixes, CPI on Revenue Forecasting, and amounts in Ask AI answers. All of them are now hidden while the mask is on and return when you turn it off.

  • Improved

Help explains how budgets and allocations connect

    ··

The Resource Allocation help chapter now explains which way changes flow: editing a budget in Project Center shows on the board right away, publishing a plan writes allocations but never budget lines, and moving a phase's dates is what moves the calendar. It also explains the "[CB] COREboards plan" lines you may find in a CORE budget and why COREboards leaves them out of planned hours. Team & Budget links to it.

  • Improved

See when your requests have news

    ·

The Bugs & Requests row in the sidebar now shows a red count when a request you filed has a status change or a new message you have not read, and hovering says what it counts. Opening a thread clears it, and a new "Mark all read" button clears everything at once. New requests are shown in red in your list, so it is clear they are at the front of the queue.

  • Fixed

Draft invoices reliably found after you create them

    ·

At firms with thousands of invoices in CORE, COREboards read only an arbitrary slice of the invoice history, so a draft you had just created could be missing from the list and the guard against creating a duplicate did nothing. Writing off time could also pick from that incomplete list. Both now see the full invoice history plus today's newest invoices.

  • Fixed

Large firms' dashboards refresh completely again

    ·

For firms with very large CORE histories, the scheduled full dashboard refresh could run out of time every attempt, while the dashboard still looked recently updated. Those refreshes now finish, using spare CORE capacity only while nobody at the firm is actively working in CORE, and handing it straight back the moment someone is.

Saturday, September 12, 2026

  • Fixed

Phase fee burn counts all of a phase's time

At firms with long project histories, Resource Allocation only saw the most recent months of logged time, so a phase's spend read far too low and its remaining budget far too high. Spend now counts every hour logged on the phase. The "Fee-burn actuals approximate" note now says how many phases are still being filled in and clears itself when they are done.

Friday, September 11, 2026

  • Improved

Stay signed in for weeks, not hours

COREboards used to sign you out every 12 hours, so opening it the next morning meant going back through the BQE CORE permission screen every day. Now you stay signed in as long as you use COREboards at least once every 30 days, up to 90 days before you are asked to sign in again. Someone removed from your firm still loses access right away.

  • Fixed

A new firm's first import finishes before the boards open

    ··

A firm connecting for the first time could land on "Couldn't load dashboard" with a CORE rate limit error, because the first import was cut short while the dashboard and Time Card started competing pulls. Setup now waits on a screen that explains what is being built (you may close the window), the dashboard and Time Card show a friendly waiting state, and the first import finishes sooner.

  • Fixed

Table headers stay in view as you scroll

On many tables across COREboards (the Profitability drawer, Revenue Forecasting, Project Center and more), the column names scrolled away with the rows, so a long table lost its labels. Headers now stay pinned at the top while the rows scroll beneath them. Column labels with an info icon also keep the icon on the same line instead of wrapping and sitting out of line with their neighbors.

Thursday, September 10, 2026

  • Improved

Current month marked Partial on capacity

The Capacity chart in Resource Allocation counts only the business days left in the current month, which could make it look far too low. That month's bar now carries a "Partial" tag, its table row has a matching note, and the chart's info tip explains why.

  • Fixed

    Fewer and shorter full outages

Twice COREboards went down for over an hour when its database froze. The database now does less heavy lifting on each page load, and if it freezes again it is detected and restarted automatically within minutes instead of waiting for someone to notice.

Wednesday, September 9, 2026

  • New

Add firm holidays that reduce capacity

    ·

Settings > Staffing Capacity now has Firm holidays, where an admin adds each date and its name. Holidays come out of everyone's capacity the way PTO does. Resource Allocation cells now name both, for example "(8h PTO, 8h Holiday)", and a week with no hours left says Holiday or Off rather than PTO.

  • Fixed

Ask AI recovers from a brief outage

A momentary hiccup on the AI service could end an Ask AI conversation with a "busy" message and your question gone. Ask AI now retries a few seconds apart, and if it still fails, offers Try again with your question back in the box. A failed first question no longer leaves an empty thread in History.

Monday, September 7, 2026

  • New

Turn an Outlook email into a to-do

    ··

The Add to COREboards button in Outlook reads the email and fills in a to-do: it finds the project from the job number or name (with AI as a fallback), and suggests a phase, assignee and due date, all editable. The to-do goes into CORE and My To-Dos right away. Sign-in lasts 60 days across your devices, with Sign out in the panel. Help covers installing it, including a printable guide.

  • Improved

Budget bars for Marketing and Overhead phases

On Project Center's Fee/Budget/Billed Health table, the bar was blank for Marketing and Overhead phases because they have no fee. For those phases it now shows cost spent against the planned budget from Team & Budget, with a note explaining the difference. Billable phases are unchanged.

  • Fixed

Every firm gets its Monday staffing digest

    ·

The weekly staffing digest stopped partway through the list of firms each Monday, so some firms never received one. Every firm now gets its own send.

Sunday, September 6, 2026

  • Improved

Gentler wording on This week's staffing

    ·

Status lines on This week's staffing now read as status rather than blame: "under pace, still time to catch up" and "Xh won't fit in the days left, worth a quick replan".

  • Fixed

Plain explanation when CORE blocks a phase edit

When CORE's stored phase percentages add up to more than 100% of the fee, CORE refuses any change to those phases, even a date. The publish results used to repeat CORE's confusing message; they now explain that the phase allocations need fixing in CORE and that everything else published normally.

Friday, September 4, 2026

  • New

See the forecast if your pursuits land

Revenue Forecasting's Overview gains a Pursuits toggle beside Baselines. It draws a faint dashed line above the plan from today on, adding each pursuit that carries a likelihood % at that share. Hover a month for the figure. It is off by default and remembered on your device. Also fixed: changing Range or Month/Quarter with the pointer over the chart could crash the page.

  • New

    Set your firm's time increment

    ··

Settings > Time Entry lets you choose 6, 15, 30 or 60 minutes to match how your firm logs time in BQE CORE. Hours steppers, the Time Card, calendar suggestions, the timer, Resource Allocation, Game Plan and published plans all follow it. Firms default to 15 minutes, as before, and hours already logged are never changed.

  • Improved

Zoom in on the Log time calendar

The Log time calendar (and its pop-out) gains zoom from 100% to 600%, by button or Cmd/Ctrl plus scroll, so six-minute entries are easy to see, click and draw. Short entries show their true length, quarter-hour lines appear as you zoom, and typed or dragged times follow your firm's time increment instead of snapping to 15 minutes.

  • Fixed

Early calendar events stay inside the Log Time grid

On the Calendar view of Log Time, calendar events outside the hours shown (for example 12:30 AM) were drawn above the timeline, on top of other content. They are now clipped to the visible hours, and the scroll arrows say how many events are waiting earlier or later.

  • Fixed

Unfilled roles no longer counted twice

In Resource Allocation's People view, an unfilled role could also appear as a nameless "Unknown" row with the same hours, so weekly totals counted them twice. Each unfilled role now appears once.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026

  • Fixed

    Fewer timeouts on busy pages

    ··

Resource Allocation, the dashboard, Team To-Dos, Time Card, Revenue Forecasting's What-if and budget bars sometimes ended in a timeout when a firm's CORE request limit ran out. COREboards now spends far fewer CORE requests in the background, remembers phase budgets and estimates, and shows a clear error instead of hanging when CORE is out of capacity.

  • Fixed

    Large staffing plans publish again

Once a firm's plan grew past 1,000 edited cells, Resource Allocation stopped showing the newest edits and Publish reported nothing to publish for the people who made them, with no error. The whole plan now loads and publishes.

  • Fixed

Pinning more groups no longer silently fails

After about a dozen pinned groups, the pushpin on Profitability stopped working with no message. Rows on the same card now count as one card, so pinning another manager or client beside ones you already watch is always allowed. If a real limit is reached, a message says so.

Tuesday, September 1, 2026

  • New

A new project manager can carry down to the phases

CORE keeps a Project Manager and Principal on every phase. When you change either on a project's Settings tab and the phases still name someone else, COREboards now says so ("All 9 phases still name...") and offers to update them all or leave them. Choosing update adds each phase to Review & publish so CORE matches.

  • New

    Choose who counts toward utilization

    ··

Settings > Utilization lets you leave people out of utilization, such as office managers or admin staff, grouped by job title. They drop out of Staff Utilization, Team Financials realization, the Scoreboard, Benchmark and Effective Capacity, while their time still counts everywhere money is involved. You can also choose "Don't count" on a row in those panels, and the panel and report name who was left out.

  • New

Keep profitability by type, client or manager on your dashboard

Pin any group row (a project type, client, manager, class) from Profitability, or pin a whole grouping, and it becomes a dashboard card. Pins of one grouping share one card, such as "Profitability by Project type", listing each row's Work Margin and margin, with "top 5 of 23" when trimmed. Clicking a row opens that group. Pins are yours alone, and empty or switched-off groupings hide their cards.

  • New

Read allocations against the phase budget

In Resource Allocation's Projects view, Display > "Fee bar shows" adds a Budget option beside Billed and Projected. The bar shows logged plus planned against the budget (dark tick) and the contract (light tick), turning amber past the budget and red past the contract. Budgets load for the rows on screen and show "Checking budget" until CORE answers.

  • Improved

Draft projects step out of My Schedule

Projects CORE marks as Draft are pencilled-in work, not hours you owe, so My Schedule now hides them by default in both the week cards and the Grid, and the weekly totals come down with them. "Show N draft projects" brings them back with a DRAFT badge.

  • Improved

Model staffed drafts and give pursuits odds

    ·

The What-if views now include Hold and Draft projects that already have people allocated, counting only the hours and fee not already in the plan ("300h of 1,000h already staffed"). Each pursuit can also carry a likelihood %, and both the Capacity and Revenue what-ifs count it at that share. Probabilities on CRM and HubSpot deals, previously shown but ignored, now count too, so those figures may come down.

  • Improved

Progress bars show overruns and contract type

    ·

A project that earned past its fee used to look healthy on the assessment bar. Bars now have an overrun lane past the fee line that fills red, and the gap, badge and sort use the true figure. Every contract amount shows its type (Hourly, Fixed Fee and so on), including on each phase. On hourly work the amber band is labelled WIP. This applies on the dashboard and the Project Center overview.

  • Fixed

A project stays put while you drag its progress

In the dashboard's Projects section, dragging a phase's progress marker or expanding a project could make the card jump to the top or bottom of the list mid-edit. The order now holds while you work, so the project is still there when you publish.

  • Fixed

Publishing a cell no longer adds hours to past weeks

Editing one cell of a CORE-planned allocation in Resource Allocation and publishing could write extra entries onto weeks that had already passed, hours that were never on the board. Publishing now spreads the allocation exactly the way the board shows it. Entries already written that way remain until cleared.

  • Fixed

Smart rebalance shows who still has room

Smart rebalance's review listed only overloaded people and those it gave hours to, so a person with free time could vanish from the screen. It now has a "Still has room" section, and in same-role mode notes idle roles with a nudge to switch to Anyone. People it did not touch are no longer shown as receiving hours because of rounding.

Monday, August 31, 2026

  • Improved

One Group by control on Profitability

The Profitability panel's Projects/Segments toggle is gone. A single Group by menu beside the title decides the view, with Project as the default, and the title follows it ("Profitability by Project type"). Your grouping is remembered, and clicking a tile always opens the grouping it is named for. The KPI is now called "Profitability by Project", and the Settings section is "Ways to group".

  • Improved

Requests we log for you appear in your list

When the COREboards team writes up a bug or request from a call with you, it can now be filed under your name, so it appears in your Bugs & Requests list and you can follow and reply to it there. You may get an email when that happens.

  • Fixed

A way past a stuck BQE CORE sign-in

Some people trying COREboards were stopped on BQE's own page with a "Failed to retrieve user information" error caused by an old sign-in in their browser. The start page now offers "Reset your CORE sign-in", which opens in its own tab, clears that sign-in, and explains that the blank page it ends on means it worked. Then connect again.

  • Fixed

    Profitability counts only active projects

    ·

The profitability tile and its printed report could say "140 projects" while the panel below said 43. The extra projects were signed contracts with nothing logged, billed or owed yet. The tile, report and pinned cards now count the same active projects as the panel. No dollar amounts change.

Sunday, August 30, 2026

  • Fixed

Reordering tiles works on a grouped dashboard

With the dashboard sorted by Group, dragging a tile to a new spot under its heading did not stick. Your order within each heading is now kept. The Region buttons, which did nothing for KPI tiles, no longer appear on them in Customize.

Saturday, August 29, 2026

  • New

Hide $ covers rates and margins in one click

    ··

A Hide $ button in the top bar (or Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+H, even while typing) dots out cost rates, bill rates, profit and margin across the app, including the WIP panel, Team & Budget, Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting and AI Advisor text. Pick what it hides from its menu. Bars and colors that would give a figure away flatten too, and layouts do not shift. Contract fees, invoices and A/R stay visible.

  • Improved

    No duplicate Project group option

    ·

When Project type already reads CORE's default project group, the Group by menu no longer offers Project group as well, since both gave the same table. It returns if you point Project type at another field, hide it, or choose "Offer it anyway" in Settings.

  • Improved

Tag and rename under any grouping

The tagging bar on profitability groups now works whatever you group by. Grouped by Class, move projects between classes or create one. Grouped by a custom field, pick an existing value or add one. Grouped by Client type, the change applies to the client and all its projects. Every group row can be renamed. Menus show "Loading from CORE" rather than looking empty, and fields that cannot be edited say why.

  • Fixed

Hours move when a phase's dates move

After a phase was rescheduled in CORE, Resource Allocation moved the schedule bar but left the allocated hours on the old weeks. Hours that fall outside an allocation's current dates are now spread across its new dates. Plans someone shaped by hand within the dates are left exactly as they are.

  • Fixed

Shortcut hints show Ctrl on Windows

    ·

The Smart Search hint showed ⌘K to everyone, a key Windows keyboards do not have. Shortcut hints now show Mac symbols on a Mac and "Ctrl K" on Windows. The Hide $ button shows its own shortcut the same way.

Friday, August 28, 2026

  • Improved

Clearer names on the profitability breakdown

    ·

Profitability used "earned" for a different number than everywhere else in COREboards. The breakdown now reads as two plain halves: "Work done" (Cost, Value, Margin) leading to Work Margin, and "Billed & collected" (Billed, WIP, A/R, Profit) leading to Billed Profit. Earned Margin is now Work Margin, and Financial Profit is Billed Profit, on the chart, hover card, phone list and PDF. Saved settings are unaffected.

  • Fixed

Every dashboard card appears in Customize

Some cards, including "This week's staffing", showed on the dashboard but had no row in the Customize dialog, so you could not hide, move or resize them. They are all listed now.

  • Fixed

The WIP panel opens right away

    ·

Opening the WIP panel could sit on "Reading WIP records from CORE" for over a minute. It now opens in under a second with the same total the tile shows, then quietly swaps in the full records. Editing unlocks once those arrive, with a "still syncing" note until then.

  • New

An Unbilled effort column on profitability groups

When grouping profitability, a new Unbilled effort column shows effort nobody paid for: time logged as non-billable (at cost) plus write-downs from standard value. It reveals clients and project types that absorb a lot of unpaid attention. Profit figures do not change. The column only appears when your firm has some unbilled effort to show.

  • New

Compare one phase across every project

Profitability can now be grouped by Phase, gathering Schematic Design (or any phase) from every project into one row. Common spellings such as "Bidding & Negotiation" and "Bidding + Negotiation" merge, and each row is labelled with the spelling your firm uses most. The Projects column says how many of those projects lost money, for example "5, 4 losing", on whichever cost basis you are viewing.

  • New

Create and rename project types from the board

You no longer need to leave for CORE to add or fix a project type. The Move-to list ends with "+ New project type", which creates it and selects it. Each group row carries a pencil to rename it (for example "Res New" to "Residential New"), and the change is saved in CORE for the whole firm. Typing a name that already exists reuses that type.

  • New

    See profit with overhead included

Project Profitability gains a basis control. Salary only stays the default; Full cost adds your firm's overhead rate, worked out from time on Overhead and Marketing projects, non-billable time on client work, and expenses nobody billed back. Each year's hours use that year's rate, and the open year uses the trailing twelve months. An Overhead column appears with a note on what the rate can and cannot see.

  • Improved

Project overview shows an earned value chart

    ·

The Project Center overview now draws the project's earned value curve: Planned, Earned, Costs, Invoiced and Paid, full width, using the same chart as Revenue Forecasting. Planned spreads each phase's fee across its CORE dates. When a project has no fee or no schedule, the chart says which, so you know what to fix. Earned is defined the same way (fee-only, CORE's Used) everywhere it appears.

  • Fixed

Blank CORE dates no longer read as the year 1

    ··

CORE stores an empty date as the first day of year 1, and COREboards sometimes read it as real. That drew schedule bars starting centuries ago, flat Planned lines, phases wrongly listed as unplanned, and to-dos marked overdue for no reason. Blank dates are now treated as blank everywhere.

  • Fixed

Long allocations no longer pile onto one week

Some multi-week allocations in CORE, such as a recurring team meeting planned over three years, showed their entire total on a single week in Resource Allocation (for example 312 hours in one week) and nothing elsewhere. Allocations nobody hand-edited are now spread evenly across their dates, the way CORE's own forecasting shows them.

  • Fixed

Moving a project to another type shows up right away

Moving a project between project types sometimes reported success while it stayed in the old type, and the table kept showing the old grouping until a full reload. The move now removes every old membership and checks the result, says plainly when CORE would not remove one, and the table repaints within seconds. The Move-to menu also opens quickly instead of taking half a minute.

  • Fixed

Picking the field behind Project type works and reads clearly

In Settings, choosing which CORE field defines Project type looked like it did nothing: the menu snapped back to the old field. Your choice now shows and the counts beneath it refresh. Long field names show in full on hover, every custom field your firm has defined is listed (empty ones marked), duplicates are gone, and the wording explains why you are asked, what to pick, and that several groupings can coexist.

  • Fixed

Rules for repeating calendar events now stick

    ·

When you taught COREboards which project a recurring Outlook or Apple Calendar event belongs to, later occurrences still came back as "No matching rule or project name". Those rules now match every occurrence, including rules you already saved.

  • New

Assign projects to groups from the Profitability panel

    ·

In the Segments view, when grouping by project group, you can tick projects in any bucket and add them to a group, or move them out of the one you're viewing, and the change is written to CORE. It's a quick way to sort out projects sitting in Unassigned. Available to people who can edit projects in CORE.

  • New

Compare segments in the Profitability panel

The Profitability panel has a new Projects / Segments switch. Segments ranks the same filtered projects side by side by project type, client, client type, project manager, class, project group or your own CORE custom fields, with sortable columns. Each project counts once, so the rows add up to the firm total, and untagged projects show as Unassigned. Options your firm's data can't fill are hidden.

  • New

Tell COREboards what your segments mean

    ·

In Settings, Segments, admins choose where Project type, Client type and Project group come from (a CORE group, class, or one of the firm's own custom fields), rename them, leave out values that aren't really types (such as a mailing-list group), and show or hide each one. Left-out values stay listed so they can be turned back on.

  • Improved

Time Card notes fill from your calendar event

    ·

When you log time from a Google, Outlook or calendar-feed event on the Time Card, the Note now fills from the event's own notes (with meeting join links stripped out), falling back to the title when there are none. Events marked personal fill in too, and you can edit the note before logging.

  • Fixed

Changes in CORE reach your boards within minutes again

Edits made in CORE were meant to reach your boards within about a minute, but a time zone mismatch meant they only arrived with the next full refresh. They now arrive promptly. Separately, at large firms Resource Allocation could go hours without refreshing while the dashboard stayed current; both now refresh in turn.

  • Fixed

Honest answers when a phase budget is slow to load

    ··

When COREboards couldn't reach a phase's budget in CORE, the EAC tooltip and Game Plan's budget check said "No budget set on this phase", which was wrong. They now say CORE couldn't be reached, or is still adding up. Budget lookups at large firms no longer time out over and over, and Revenue Forecasting waits for every phase before showing its totals.

Thursday, August 13, 2026

  • New

A heads-up before your trial converts

    ·

Three days before a trial converts, the buyer now gets an email showing exactly what the first invoice will be (people times rate), and how to correct the count first: mark departed staff Inactive in CORE, and mark non-people "Not a person" on the Billing page. The subscription's headcount is refreshed at the same time.

  • New

Filter by CORE Class and Project Group

    ··

Firms that tag projects with CORE classes (such as Architecture and Construction) or project groups can now filter by them in Revenue Forecasting, Resource Allocation, Game Plan, the Project Center gallery and the Forecasting PDF. A project counts if it or any of its phases is tagged. Firms that don't use classes or groups won't see these filters.

  • New

Give someone view-only access to planning boards

    ··

In Settings, Users & Access, a person's Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting and Project Center access is now Off, View or Edit. View opens the full board read-only for any role, with saving, publishing and status changes turned off, and can also make an editor read-only on those boards. Project Center shows a View-only label.

  • Improved

Class and Project Group reach the dashboard

    ·

The dashboard's filter bar can now scope the whole dashboard by CORE Class and Project Group. Both are also filters on the Backlog, Profitability, Forecast, WIP, A/R, My Hours by Project and Team To-Dos panels, their PDFs, and the Report Center's run dialog.

  • Improved

Fee bars show what CORE says was billed

Fee bars in Resource Allocation's Projects view now show billed fees, matching CORE's Billed column and including consultant invoices. They used to show a projection from time entries that could read far below CORE on older projects. The projection is still there under Display, "Fee bar shows: Projected (EAC)".

  • Improved

    More reliable monday.com imports

    ·

monday.com imports into Game Plan match more rows correctly. A CORE Phase ID in any column identifies the phase outright, names in a different order or with extra names still match, and an unmatched activity is flagged instead of defaulting to the first one alphabetically. The review separates dated from undated items, dates carry onto tasks, already-imported items are held aside, and an optional setting marks imported items on the board.

  • Fixed

Panel explanations match the filtered headline

With a filter applied, a dashboard panel could show one figure in its headline and a different, firm-wide figure in the explanation right under it, which looked like a broken filter. The explanation now quotes the same filtered numbers on Staff Utilization, A/R, Collections, Pipeline, Profitability and Team.

  • Fixed

Revenue Forecasting's phase table counts what's billed

    ·

Revenue Forecasting's phase table could say a nearly fully billed phase still had its whole fee left, because it only knew about staffing plans. A Billed column now sits between Fee and Planned, and fee left subtracts whichever is larger, billed or planned. The timeline view and the PDF follow the same rule.

Wednesday, August 12, 2026

  • New

    Auto-place a person's tasks onto their week

Auto-place deals a person's open tasks (or just the ones you tick) onto their week without going over any day's capacity, keeping each project's work together. Choose Earliest first or Balanced, check each day's tasks and totals in the preview, then accept. Dated tasks stay inside their dates, and anything that doesn't fit is named. Dropping a task too big for one day now spreads it across the week too.

  • Improved

System status is in the Help menu

A link to the COREboards status page now sits in the "?" menu, just above Contact support, so you can check it when the app feels slow. It was previously tucked under Legal at the bottom of the sidebar.

  • Fixed

Large publishes no longer leave a budget unlinked

A Project Center publish that rebuilt many phase budgets at once could hit CORE's request limit, leaving one new budget created but not attached to its phase. That step now waits its turn and retries like every other write.

  • Fixed

Project Center filters list every status and person

Project Center's Status filter only ever listed Active. Status, Contract type, Project Manager and Principal now list every value the firm uses with real counts, including types and people found only on finished jobs. Picking one widens the view to all projects so the count matches what you get, and clicking Active clears those picks.

  • Fixed

Saves no longer fail when two land on the same week

    ·

Saving on Resource Allocation, or placing work in Game Plan, could occasionally fail with an error when two saves touched the same person's week at the same moment. The later save now simply updates the week.

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

  • New

Set when your firm's working day starts

    ··

Admins can set the firm's working hours in Settings, Time Entry (8 AM to 6 PM unless changed). Game Plan's calendar draws that window, extending only when someone works later, and the Time Card calendar starts from it for anyone who hasn't set their own hours.

  • Improved

Game Plan opens on this week, with the app's own menus

Monday to Thursday, Game Plan now opens on the week you're in (from Friday, next week), with a This week button to get back. Its dropdowns are the app's own menus, with type-to-filter on long lists. Project pickers follow the board's filter and show full names, assignee lists separate employees from vendors, and phases offer the firm's real activities.

  • Improved

Game Plan's task list can sit above the week

Game Plan now opens with the task list full width above the calendar (move it back to the left column, or below the week, from the Dock control), so the table shows every column. The calendar's hours shrink to fit the space left, and the Allocations panel collapses if you don't use it. Headers and filters stay pinned while you scroll, tasks sort by project within each person, and Import stays in reach.

  • Improved

Limit a person to certain projects, everywhere

    ··

Admins can now turn on project limits themselves in Settings, Users & Access, Project access. A person limited to certain projects no longer sees the others anywhere: Project Center, Resource Allocation, Game Plan, Smart Search, WIP, receivables, Team To-Dos, the Action Center and emailed reports, not just the dashboard. Everyone still sees their own logged time.

  • Improved

Review & publish flags a $0 fee on a Fixed phase

    ·

CORE can't accept a Fixed fee phase being set to $0. Review & publish in Project Center now marks that line in red before you publish, with the two ways out: give the phase a fee, or make it Hourly. The new project wizard warns about the same case.

  • Fixed

Boards keep refreshing when an admin's CORE seat can't read

At some firms the boards stopped refreshing for hours because COREboards was reading CORE through whichever admin signed in last, even when that person's CORE seat had no access to the data. Background refreshes now use the firm's own CORE connection, and a member's sign-in is only used as a backup once it has proven it can read the firm's data.

Monday, August 10, 2026

  • New

Import a monday.com board into Game Plan

    ·

Firms that plan work on monday.com can connect it in Connected apps and import a board into Game Plan as tasks. An admin maps the board's columns to COREboards fields once in Settings; after that, Import brings in just the week being planned (plus undated items) through the same review as a CSV import. Rows that don't match a project ask you to pick one. Nothing is written back to monday.com.

  • New

The sidebar shows when you're behind on hours

    ·

The Time Card item in the sidebar now carries a badge when you're short on hours: one number for last week (until it's submitted) and one for this week so far, counting only days that have passed. Hover it for the details, such as "33h logged of 40h, 7h short". Compressed and part-time schedules aren't flagged as long as the hours add up.

  • New

Wrap up last week's unworked hours

    ·

When last week left allocated hours that were never logged, Game Plan shows a "Wrap up last week" chip. It lists each person and phase with hours allocated versus logged and suggests an action: Release (shrink last week to what was logged), Move (to a week you pick, or spread into free hours ahead), or Slide (push the phase's remaining schedule later). Changes reach CORE only when you publish from Resource Allocation.

  • Improved

Hide Harvest time from your Time Card

    ·

Time imported from Harvest was missing from the Time Card's calendar view; it now shows there. You can also hide Harvest time from your own Time Card, by project, by entry or all at once, without changing anything in Harvest. The week says how many hours are hidden, with one click to bring them back, and firm reports still count them.

Sunday, August 9, 2026

  • New

A guide and guided tour for Game Plan

    ·

Game Plan has its own chapter in the user guide with an annotated screenshot, a ten-step guided tour that starts on a planner's first visit (and is always available from Help), and Explain this screen notes on the page. A tour fix also keeps the highlight inside the visible part of wide, scrolling areas on every tour.

  • New

Budget checks as you plan in Game Plan

    ·

When placing or resizing work in Game Plan adds hours to someone's week on a phase, a Budget checks list under the calendar says so in words: the phase, the added hours, and whether the phase stays within its budgeted hours (fixed fee) or its estimate (hourly), using CORE's budget. Each line lets you borrow the hours from next week or keep them as extra.

  • New

Game Plan: plan each person's week by the day (beta)

    ··

Game Plan is a new page in the sidebar, marked Beta, for turning weekly allocations into a day-by-day plan. Keep a list of tasks and drag them onto a person's calendar at a set time or as flexible hours. Move and resize blocks like any calendar, spread one across days by capacity, add "done by" deadline flags, and act on several blocks at once. Resource Allocation links straight to it.

  • New

Game Plan tasks: a table, CSV import and a pop-out window

Game Plan's task list can switch to a table you type straight into, with resizable columns, an add row in each person's section, and keyboard-friendly pickers. Tasks are grouped by who they are for. Import tasks from a CSV (download the template, then review how each row was matched before anything is created), and pop the list out into its own window to drag between screens.

  • New

Your planned work appears where you log time

    ··

When a manager plans your week in Game Plan, the plan shows up where you log time. On the Time Card calendar, planned blocks appear as dashed outlines in the project's color; click one, or drag a flexible one onto the timeline, to open the usual new-entry card already filled in. My Schedule opens with a "Planned for you this week" strip, deadlines first, with one-tap logging.

  • Improved

Game Plan shows how much of the plan was logged

    ·

Game Plan's calendar header now shows how much of a person's plan has been logged (for example "12.00 of 34.00 logged"), with a To log view that sets finished blocks aside. Hover the free-hours figure to see the week's arithmetic. The Monday staffing email adds a Game Plan line reporting how much of last week's plan reached timecards, and names what didn't.

Saturday, August 8, 2026

  • New

See budgeted hours nobody has scheduled

    ·

When a phase's budget plans more hours than have been logged or put on the calendar, COREboards now shows the gap. Look for an amber "+Nh unscheduled" chip on the phase in Resource Allocation's Projects view, a "Schedule these hours" button on Team & Budget in Project Center, and a new Unscheduled view listing every active phase that still owes hours, worst first. Schedule them one phase at a time or in a batch.

  • Fixed

Budget lines follow the phase's dates

    ·

Budget service lines published from COREboards could carry the publish day as their start and no end date, so CORE's own budget-to-allocation tool scheduled hours from the wrong day. Budget lines now take the phase's actual dates, moving a phase's dates later re-dates its budget lines too, and the new project wizard gives each phase's lines and allocations that phase's own window.

Friday, August 7, 2026

  • New

Admins can open the app as one of their people

In Users & Access, Open their view shows COREboards exactly as that person sees it, with their projects, dashboard and permissions, which helps when training staff. Nothing can be changed while you are in their view, and admin screens are hidden. An amber frame marks the mode. Exit from the sidebar, the Settings drawer or the pill; it also ends after two hours.

  • Improved

Board names move into the top bar

    ··

On a desktop, the name of the board you are on now appears in the top bar, lined up with the page, rather than in a "Back to dashboard" row. Every board starts at the same height, so switching boards no longer shifts the page. Project Center and Report Center no longer show their names twice. On narrower screens the heading stays where it was.

  • Improved

Invitations that land in the inbox more often

    ·

The invitation email is now a short, personal note from a named sender, and replying to it always reaches a person. Recurring digests are sent separately from invitations and billing email, so an ignored digest cannot hurt delivery of those. A new Help page walks your IT admin through allowing COREboards email in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Apple Mail, and the setup wizard links to it.

  • Improved

KPI explanations live in the panel

Hovering over KPI tiles no longer opens a pop-up that follows your pointer. The plain-English line explaining why a KPI is red, amber or green now sits under the headline in the KPI's panel, where you can read it on touch screens and keyboards too. Clicking the same KPI again closes its panel.

  • Improved

    Publishing protects your consultant markup

CORE cannot keep the markup on a consultant expense line when COREboards rebuilds a budget, so a publish would quietly bill cost instead of cost plus markup. When a change would do that, COREboards now stops and tells you the billable amount at stake, and you make that change in CORE instead. The banner about unpublished changes also no longer contradicts a publish in progress.

  • Improved

Time Card suggests your planned hours

When you click a day on your Time Card, the hours field now fills in what your plan has left for that phase or activity this week, with a line such as "4 of 6h planned, 2h left". Type over it or use the +1/+2/+4/+8 buttons. The field also has up and down arrows that step by a quarter hour.

  • Improved

Toolbars that keep Report in one place

    ··

Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting and Benchmark share one toolbar layout. Report is always the last button on the right, and it no longer jumps when you switch lenses or tabs. Controls that do not apply are left out rather than greyed, and buttons in a row are all the same size. Resource Allocation's standing notices, such as PTO not tracked, now sit in one chip instead of a row across the grid.

  • Fixed

Dark mode fixes for panels, fields and buttons

In dark mode, some dropdowns, dialogs and drawers showed as bright white boxes, and some form fields made their text nearly invisible. These now use the dark theme. Text on red, green, amber, blue and purple buttons is now easy to read in both themes, so some green and amber buttons now have dark text in light mode.

  • Fixed

The Project ID check no longer hangs

When you set up a new project, the check that tells you whether a Project ID is already taken could hang when CORE was busy. It now gives up after a few seconds, and the ID is still checked when the project is created.

Thursday, August 6, 2026

  • New

    Turn off phase schedule bars

The Display menu in Resource Allocation has a new Phase schedule bars switch. Turn it off to drop the striped schedule lane under each phase and get shorter rows. Phase dates, the "staffed outside dates" warning and milestones stay. Your choice is remembered.

  • Improved

    Arrange your dashboard by dragging

Your dashboard is now built from rows of columns you control. Drag a card by its top edge to move it beside, above or below another. Drag its left or right edge to resize the columns, and its bottom edge to set its height; you see the result as you drag. A Fill option lets a column stretch to meet its neighbor. My To-Dos now adds items from a small + Add button.

  • Improved

Connected apps lists only apps we can connect

Monograph, Studio Designer and FactorApp are no longer listed as coming soon in Connected apps, because none of them offers a way for other software to connect. The other apps marked Soon all have one.

  • Improved

Executive brief and Team to-dos become movable cards

This week's staffing, Team to-dos and the Executive brief are now ordinary dashboard cards. You can move, resize or hide them in Customize, and the Project Center card can be resized too. The Studio Head board can now show Team to-dos for a manager's direct reports.

  • Improved

Review & publish shows your CORE budget lines before it changes them

Review & publish now lists the consultant and other direct cost lines CORE holds for each phase next to what the publish will leave. You can untick any group of changes and publish the rest, and choose for each cost line to leave CORE alone or overwrite it. COREboards refuses to delete money it could not read, and leaves alone any figure a colleague changed in CORE since you opened the draft.

  • Fixed

Compact rows are now actually compact

Turning on Compact rows in Resource Allocation barely changed the height of person rows. They now shrink by about a fifth, so more people fit on screen.

  • Fixed

Dropdown menus always open on screen

Some menus, such as the Team to-dos filter and This week's staffing dropdowns, could open partly off the edge of the screen when their card sat near an edge. Every menu now stays fully visible, and a menu near the bottom of the window opens upward.

Wednesday, August 5, 2026

  • Improved

The WIP list opens on project totals

The WIP panel now opens with each project collapsed to its total, rather than hundreds of individual unbilled entries. Expand a project, or use Expand all, to see the entries.

  • Improved

Unbilled Harvest time counts in WIP

    ·

Harvest time that has not been invoiced now counts in the WIP tile, which says how much came from Harvest. The WIP list includes those entries as read-only rows with a Harvest badge, so the list adds up to the tile. Fixed-fee Harvest projects are valued as a share of their fee. This also fixes a WIP panel that would not open, and a slow first load each morning.

  • Fixed

    To-do panels stop timing out

    ·

My To-Dos and Team to-dos sometimes spun and then failed to load, especially for managers opening a team member's list. They now load quickly. Your to-dos themselves still update right away after an edit.

Tuesday, August 4, 2026

  • New

Fill your financials from QuickBooks Online

    ··

Connect QuickBooks Online once (read-only) and COREboards reads your monthly profit and loss and balance sheet. Benchmark's "Your firm's numbers" gains a Fill from QuickBooks option beside the P&L upload, and the Scoreboard check-in suggests values for its four financial rows. Everything arrives as a suggestion you review; nothing is saved until you accept it. The connection syncs daily.

  • New

Five more ways to lay out your KPIs

Customize now offers six KPI sizes. Slim and Bullet are compact tiles. Rail shows every KPI as one row in a ledger. Band is a strip of small cells that stays pinned below the top bar while you scroll. Auto keeps red and amber KPIs as cards and shrinks healthy ones to small pills. Wide screens split rails and bands into two columns.

  • New

    Harvest revenue in Revenue Forecasting

    ·

Revenue Forecasting now includes Harvest projects next to your CORE projects. An All, CORE or Harvest switch chooses what the KPI strip and project list show. Harvest projects carry a tag, and hourly projects leave Progress and CPI blank because there is no fee to measure against. The forward figure is a run rate from your last three complete months, and Paid is marked CORE-only.

  • New

Log and edit Harvest time from your Time Card

    ·

If your firm uses Harvest, your Harvest hours appear on your Time Card under each project and count toward your day and week totals. You can log, edit and delete Harvest entries from the same grid, and a Log to Harvest button starts a new one. Entries approved or billed in Harvest show as locked. Changes made in Harvest show up whenever you open your Time Card, with no sync button to press.

  • Improved

    Harvest hours count toward utilization

    ··

Harvest hours now reach Staff Utilization once an admin confirms who each Harvest person is: a CORE employee, someone only in Harvest, or an account to ignore. The panel says how many hours came from Harvest, names anyone left unmapped, and shows Harvest projects with an orange badge in each person's breakdown and the PDF. A token that can only see part of the firm now warns you.

  • Fixed

Disconnecting Harvest removes its synced data

Disconnecting Harvest used to leave its synced time, projects and people behind, even though the confirmation said it would remove them. It now removes them. Each sync also keeps an exact copy of the connected Harvest account, clearing anything from a different account or anything deleted in Harvest.

  • Fixed

No more empty group rows in Resource Allocation

Some firms saw employee-group rows filled with dashes because they only had hours in past weeks. A group row now appears only when it has planned hours from this week onward.

  • Fixed

Signing in survives a busy moment in CORE

When CORE was briefly overloaded during sign-in, you could land on a blank white page. Sign-in now waits a few seconds and tries again, so a busy moment in CORE no longer keeps you out.

Monday, August 3, 2026

  • Improved

Click a sidebar item again to close its panel

Time Card, My To-Dos, My Schedule, Ask AI, Bugs & Requests and your account now close when you click them a second time in the sidebar, so you no longer have to reach for the × in the panel's corner. Clicking a different item still swaps the panel in place.

  • Improved

Filter options show how many records they match

    ··

Filter menus now show a count beside each option and a line at the top saying how many records match, so you know the result before you close the panel. Options that would leave you with nothing are hidden, except ones you have already picked, which stay so you can clear them. This works in Project Center, Resource Allocation and the dashboard's KPI panels.

  • Fixed

Consultant budgets read correctly however you name them

If your CORE expense items were named something like "Consul. - Structural", consultant budgets showed $0 in Team & Budget and numbers you typed there were dropped on publish. COREboards now recognizes consultant items from their name, description and GL account, and asks you when the signals disagree. Consultant lines booked one per vendor are read too, and are left untouched when a phase's total does not change.

Sunday, August 2, 2026

  • Improved

Choose who can sign in when your trial starts

    ·

Setting up a trial now offers a choice: let everyone in, or just admins at first. With admins only, your staff see a "still setting up" page naming the admins until you click Let my team in on the Users panel. The setup wizard also lists the actual tiles each role's dashboard will show, and tells you your progress is saved if you leave and come back.

  • New

A public setup guide for the HubSpot integration

    ·

A new page at coreboards.app/integrations/hubspot explains what the HubSpot connection does, how to connect and disconnect it, exactly which two permissions it asks for and why, where your deals appear, and how to leave some out. You can read it without signing in.

  • New

Choose how your KPIs are sorted

A Sort control beside Customize lets you pick My order, Urgency or Group. Group files each KPI under the question it answers, such as "Are we getting paid?". Switching never changes your saved arrangement, so My order always brings it back. Previously, dragging a single tile quietly turned off urgency sorting with no way back on screen. Nobody's board moved when this arrived.

  • Improved

A year of history behind A/R and Collections

The A/R and Collections trend lines no longer start from the day your firm connected. COREboards rebuilds about twelve months of past A/R balances and days to pay from your CORE invoices and payments, in the background, so new firms see a real trend on day one. Other KPIs keep building their history going forward.

  • Improved

Help uses the names in your menu

Help chapters and in-app text now call each screen what the sidebar calls it: Resource Allocation, Project Center, Report Center, Revenue Forecasting, Time Card, My To-Dos and My Schedule, instead of older names like Staffing, Projects and Reports.

  • Improved

KPI tiles show why they are red, amber or green

Each KPI tile now draws the zones that decide its color, with a marker where your firm sits, so you can tell a point under target from twenty points under. A small trend line tracks the headline number itself, with a change figure such as "vs a month ago". Two new switches in Customize turn the gauge and trend on or off, and they follow you across every board.

  • Improved

See and control where What-if pursuits come from

    ··

The What-if panel in Resource Allocation and Revenue Forecasting now lists the sources behind its pursuits, including HubSpot with its last sync time, and you can switch any source off for your own view. Dismiss a pursuit nobody is chasing with the × and it leaves both boards for the whole firm without touching HubSpot or CORE. Show dismissed brings it back. Connected apps also explain what each connection reads and where it appears.

  • New

A public status page for COREboards

    ·

status.coreboards.app shows live uptime and any incidents, and it stays up even when COREboards is having trouble. You will find a Status link before Contact on the sign-in page, the site footer, the Legal menu and the phone menu, so you can check whether a problem is on our side before writing in. The Terms now say plainly what we do and do not promise about availability.

  • Fixed

Edits in CORE reach your boards within a minute again

    ·

For a few days, a change made in BQE CORE could take much longer to show up in COREboards. Near-instant updates are back on: edit a project, an invoice or time in CORE and your dashboards reflect it in about a minute.

  • Fixed

The Billing page stops hanging on Loading

The price preview in Settings, Billing could sit on Loading for a minute or more while COREboards ran its own background work first. It now gets priority, so it answers promptly. If it still takes longer than ten seconds, you see a Retry button instead of an endless spinner.

  • New

See My Schedule as a grid

    ·

My Schedule has a Weeks/Grid toggle. Grid lays out your assigned work by project, phase and week the way Resource Allocation does, without needing edit rights. Hover a cell to flag that week, or click it for planned, logged and remaining hours plus Log time. Past weeks show on request. Also fixed: a dark mode glitch that highlighted alternate months on the staffing board.

  • Improved

Unbilled WIP by phase in the Overview

The Fee, Budget, Billed Health table in Project Center's Overview has a new Unbilled column beside Invoiced, so you can see which phase is holding unbilled time. It totals to the Unbilled WIP tile, and the phase bars show unbilled work as a pale continuation of the billed amount.

  • Fixed

    Fewer slowdowns and outages

On the evenings of July 29 and 30 some users saw sign-in fail, pages time out, or the app stop responding for a few minutes while background refreshes overloaded the database. Refreshes are now spread out and skip data that is already fresh, older saved data is cleaned up, larger firms' refreshes can finish, and clicks no longer wait behind them.

  • Fixed

Projects always show their number and name

    ·

Depending on how a firm sets project display in CORE, some screens (notably Project Center Settings) listed projects as bare numbers with no name. Every project label now shows both the number and the name, without changing labels that were already right, and long names wrap instead of being cut off.

Wednesday, July 29, 2026

  • New

See who is counted, and mark placeholders

    ·

A "Who's counted?" list in Billing shows everyone included in your price, contract seats included. Admins can mark a placeholder employee record (like "Designer") as not a person, which removes it from the count and blocks it from signing in. Below the minimum, the list says both the counted number and the minimum billed.

  • New

Start a free trial on your own

    ·

The waitlist is gone. Start free trial connects your firm through BQE CORE, imports your data with visible progress, sets up dashboards for each security profile, shows your price from your live headcount, and starts a 14-day free trial. Trial days show in a countdown, and people who cannot connect the firm themselves can send the link to their admin.

  • Improved

Contract staff are not billed until given access

    ·

Contract staff and consultants set up as vendors in CORE no longer count toward your COREboards price until an admin gives one of them a dashboard in Users & access. Employees count as before. Contract people who are given access can now sign in correctly, and the pricing page describes the new rule.

  • Improved

    Frame your profile photo

Choosing a profile photo now opens a framing step: drag to position, zoom with the slider or wheel, and see the circle it will appear in. Photos taken sideways on a phone now come in the right way up. An Adjust button re-frames an existing photo.

  • Improved

Settings shows staff only what they can change

Firm-wide settings are now visible to admins only, instead of being shown read-only to everyone. Time Entry moved into the firm-wide group, since it is a firm policy. Firm-wide settings are ordered by importance with Users & access first, and the two groups are separated more clearly.

  • Improved

The Principal dashboard carries the people KPIs

Team To-Dos, Team Financials and Reviews are now on the Principal dashboard, covering the whole firm, so principals no longer need the Studio Leader dashboard for them. New KPIs added to a dashboard now appear with your other tiles instead of at the very bottom of a saved layout.

  • Fixed

Pages stop waiting on BQE CORE

Some dashboards and project pages took close to a minute to load while waiting on CORE's request limit. Pages now show saved data instead of waiting on CORE, and background refreshes are held to a smaller share of the allowance so what you click always goes first.

  • Fixed

The Advisor stops suggesting people who have left

    ·

The staffing Advisor could recommend moving work to an inactive person, treating them as open capacity. Inactive people are now never suggested, and hours still booked on them are flagged as stale bookings to clear.

Tuesday, July 28, 2026

  • New

A guide to Users & access

    ·

A new help chapter explains Users & access: which setting wins, rows that cannot be switched on, the kinds of numbers you can hide, and making one person an exception. It opens with annotated screenshots and numbered badges, each (i) button answers in place, and it is available as a PDF. The Help button now describes the Settings panel you have open, not the page behind it.

  • New

Choose which modules each role and person can open

    ·

In Users & access, admins can now decide which modules (Project Center, Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting and more) each dashboard role can open, shown as that role's sidebar with a switch on each row. One person can be made an exception. The sidebar, Smart Search and Report Center all follow the setting. BQE CORE does not share its security profiles, so this is set in COREboards.

  • New

Hide cost and margin figures by role

    ··

Admins can now withhold kinds of numbers, such as cost rates, cost totals or margin, per role or person. Project Center's Team & Budget stops showing cost rates to those users without wiping them from CORE, and reports and the Executive Brief drop the hidden figures. A sample row shows what disappears, with a warning when the remaining numbers would still reveal cost.

  • New

See the reports a person can open

    ·

Expanding a person in Users & access now lists the reports they can find in their Report Center, with a count against the full catalog. Each link downloads the report exactly as that person would get it, so an admin can check their access settings before anyone asks.

  • New

See which version of COREboards you are on

The footer now shows a version number. Click it to see how many updates have been released and when the current build went live.

  • Improved

Hours outside your scope name their projects

In Resource Allocation, a person's "Other projects (outside your scope)" row now shows, on hover, which projects those hours are on and who manages each, so you know who to ask. Phase detail and fees on other teams' projects stay hidden.

  • Improved

New role defaults: dashboard only below leadership

Project managers, studio leaders and architects/engineers now start with their dashboard and no other modules, until an admin turns modules on for their role or for a person. Leadership is unchanged, and firms that already configured access keep their settings. A one-time notice at sign-in explains the change, and tells admins where to adjust it.

  • Improved

Project managers see only their projects

    ·

In Project Center, a project manager now sees and opens only the projects they manage, matching what their dashboard shows. Admins, principals, CFOs and studio leaders are unchanged. The gallery also shows how many projects it found (for example 12 of 48 when filtered), and a Viewing as switch lets someone with several roles see it as a project manager would.

  • Improved

Scheduled reports only reach people who can open them

    ·

A scheduled report is no longer delivered to someone who could not open that report in COREboards. The recipient picker greys out those people with a note, and the schedule's owner is told when anyone was left out.

  • Fixed

A/R and other panels stop hanging on Loading

    ·

For busy firms, the A/R panel and other drawers could show Loading for minutes and then report "No open invoices". COREboards was using up the firm's CORE request allowance in the background. Background refreshes now run less often, retries wait as long as CORE asks, the A/R panel requests far less, and a failure shows an error with Try again.

  • Fixed

Approved time stays editable until it is billed

For people whose time is approved automatically in CORE, every Time Card entry was locked the moment it was saved. Approved entries can now be edited, dragged and deleted until they are billed, just as in CORE, and keep their green Approved chip.

  • Fixed

Memo required by CORE is asked for up front

    ·

Logging time to a phase that CORE requires a memo for showed a raw error message. The memo field now opens by itself, says it is required by CORE, and holds the Log button until you fill it, in My Schedule's quick log and the calendar log. Other CORE rejections read as plain sentences.

  • Fixed

No more rows for people who left

Resource Allocation showed empty rows for inactive employees (and an "Unknown" row) because of old bookings from years ago. People now appear only if they have work in the weeks on screen. The blue this-week column also continues through a person's expanded phase rows instead of breaking.

  • Fixed

Project Center Overview opens in seconds

Opening a project's Overview could take nearly 20 seconds or more for larger firms. It no longer rebuilds staffing data for the whole firm on every open, and now loads in about two seconds.

  • Fixed

Report filters open in about a second

The Report Center run dialog could take over a minute to show its filters for larger firms. Filters now load in about a second and changing the date range costs nothing. If your selection matches no projects, you get a message instead of a blank PDF.

  • Fixed

Staff Utilization report prints the people you picked

The Staff Utilization report ignored its staff filters and printed the whole firm. It now includes only the people you selected, says what it was filtered to, and its headline reads like the panel's, such as "4 of 26 people".

Monday, July 27, 2026

  • New

Publish the staffing plan in the background

Publishing Resource Allocation to CORE now runs in the background: start it and keep working anywhere in COREboards. A progress chip shows in the top bar on every page and the result appears when it finishes, even after a reload. Large publishes no longer fail with timeout errors, finish with far fewer CORE calls, and progress counts your actual changes.

  • Improved

Bugs & Requests keeps the whole conversation

Each request now has a full thread in the app: our updates, our replies and yours, with files attached by either side at any point (large screen recordings included). You can reply with just a screenshot, you see a dot when we respond, and every email links straight to the request. The form shows exactly what context is being sent.

  • Improved

Collections judges each client by its own terms

    ·

Each client in Collections is now colored by how many days past its own payment terms it pays, so a due-on-receipt client and a net-60 client are each held to their own line. The Collections thresholds in Settings are now day counts (for example red at 21 days late), and the terms used are shown on the bars, tile and report.

  • Improved

Milestones and schedule panels are easier to read

Milestone diamonds now sit on the week's load bar at the day they fall, so the header bars stay level across all weeks, and one hover explains both the load and the milestones. Clicking a schedule bar low on the screen no longer opens its panel off the bottom of the window.

  • Improved

    Planned hours use quarter hours

Planned hours in Resource Allocation now always land on quarter hours, instead of odd figures like 4.90 from CORE's date-range math. Tiny amounts round up to 0.25 rather than disappearing. Admins get a one-time offer to tidy existing numbers from this week forward. Logged time is untouched.

  • Improved

Review and pull back Smart rebalance changes

After a Smart rebalance, changes are grouped by phase with project names and a change column, and each phase has its own Undo. Tick the people whose changes you do not want and Pull back returns their hours to where they came from, in one step, while leaving the rest in place.

  • Improved

This week's staffing includes overhead, with totals

    ·

The dashboard's weekly staffing panel now includes overhead work, so someone booked on internal time no longer looks idle; an Overhead switch turns it off. Above the list, Allocated and Billable totals are read against each person's utilization target, colored the same way as the Staff Utilization tile.

  • Fixed

Changes to past weeks no longer get stuck

Some changes on past weeks sat in the Review list forever, and every publish reported that nothing needed writing, because CORE does not accept changes to past weeks. Those changes are no longer created, and any already stuck are cleared automatically on the next publish.

  • Fixed

The welcome tour opens the sidebar and stays on screen

The welcome tour now expands the sidebar while it runs so you can read each destination, then puts it back how you had it. Tour cards no longer run off the bottom of the screen at larger text sizes, and the step about the board controls highlights just those controls.

  • Fixed

Tighter limits on what project managers can reach

    ··

Several places let restricted users see or do more than their role allows: fee schedule cost rates, publishing other managers' staffing changes, the firm's full pipeline in the Revenue What-if, and Benchmark, which is built from the firm's payroll and financials. Each is now limited correctly; Benchmark is leadership only.

Sunday, July 26, 2026

  • New

    Add a profile photo

BQE CORE does not share employee pictures, so you can now add one in Settings under Profile photo. It is cropped square and shown on your account chip in the sidebar, updating as soon as you upload or remove it. Initials show when there is no photo.

  • New

Edit every field of a time record

In Project Center's Time tab, each row has a More fields button that opens the whole record in a panel beside the grid: the date, the employee's own hours, the billing role, and the full note. Changes stage like any grid edit and nothing reaches BQE CORE until Publish, which checks each field and names any that CORE refused. Write off now lives in this panel too.

  • New

Group by one thing, then by another

    ·

The WIP list, the Project Center Time tab and the A/R invoice list can now group by two levels, such as Project then Activity or Role then Employee. Each inner group has its own subtotals and collapses on its own, records are indented under their group, phases keep CORE's structure order, and a column the grouping already names is dropped from the rows. A/R can now regroup by Age, Project, Project Manager or Principal.

  • New

Open a WIP record to edit its other fields

In the Work in Progress panel, More fields opens a record in a properly sized dialog with the date, employee hours, billing role and note, the same editor the Project Center Time tab uses. The button stays pinned to the right edge so it is always visible, write off moved into the dialog, and rows are one line tall again.

  • New

Report Center: every printable report in one place

A new Report Center lists every report you can print, grouped Financial, People and Firm, with when your firm last ran each one. Run a report from there and pick the filters yourself; the choices only offer options that will produce a document with something in it. The Report buttons on each panel still work as before and carry the filters you are looking at.

  • New

Schedule reports to email your team

    ·

Any report in the Report Center can be emailed weekly or monthly to people in your firm. Schedules use the same sections, filters and page setup as running the report, can use any date range (including All dates or the period that just closed), and can be named. Several schedules of one report each get their own line, can be edited separately, and show when a send failed.

  • New

Smart Search finds anything in the app

Press ⌘K and type: Smart Search returns the matching panels, reports, saved views, projects and clients, and says why each matched. Picking a result takes you straight in, opening the panel, the report's run dialog or the saved view, even when you are already on that screen. You can also hand what you typed to Ask AI.

  • Improved

A labelled sidebar with every module named

The left icon strip is now a sidebar with labels, using each module's real name: Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting, Project Center, Report Center, Time Card and so on. Bugs & Requests, Help and your account are pinned at the bottom. A toggle collapses it back to icons, and hovering an icon names it.

  • Improved

Bugs & Requests opens beside your work

Bugs & Requests now opens in a side panel like Time Card and My To-Dos, so you can describe a problem while still looking at the screen that has it.

  • Improved

Choose which columns the WIP list shows

You can hide columns you do not need in the Work in Progress list, such as the memo. The table narrows when you hide something, so it stops scrolling sideways, and the totals still line up under the right columns.

  • Improved

    Clearer A/R threshold settings

The Accounts Receivable thresholds read as two levels on one number: the tile turns red, or amber, when a given share of your A/R balance is more than 120 days old. Labels and units no longer wrap or spill out of their cards in the narrower Settings panel.

  • Improved

Collections measures how fast you get paid

    ·

The Collections KPI now matches each payment to the invoice it settled and reports the average days to get paid against your own terms, plus the median, the share paid within terms, and DSO. The detail lists your slowest payers first, then each client's invoices with the days each took. The billed vs collected chart stays, clearly labelled as a separate question.

  • Improved

    Filter reports by project status

    ·

Profitability and Work in Progress reports, their panels and scheduled reports can now filter by Project status, for example to show only active projects. Project statuses are also named as CORE names them everywhere: a project on Hold was sometimes shown as "Cancelled", which is fixed.

  • Improved

KPI tiles line up across each row

Dashboard KPI tiles are now all the same height, and the big numbers sit at the same position in every tile, so you can scan a row left to right without your eye moving up and down.

  • Improved

Report filenames say what is inside

Downloaded PDFs now say Summary or Detail, and name any grouping or mode you picked (for example Work in Progress Detail, Activity, or Profitability with Billed Profit and All dates), so two downloads of the same report no longer land with identical names. Bar charts in printed reports also keep every project row the same height, even with long project names.

  • Improved

Select a whole group, and see what a write-off does

    ·

Every group header in the WIP list and the Time tab now has a checkbox that selects all the editable records in that group, at either level. Writing off time now shows what it will do before you do it: the dollar amount leaving WIP, the invoice it attaches to, whether it will approve the entry in CORE, and that it cannot be undone after publishing. You then confirm it explicitly.

  • Improved

    Settings opens beside the sidebar

    ·

Clicking your name at the bottom of the sidebar now opens Settings in a panel beside it, split into separate views and grouped into your own settings and firm-wide ones. Users & access and Billing open inside it. Drag its edge to resize, and the badge on your name now explains that it counts new access requests.

  • Improved

Users & access is a list you can work down

The nine-column users table is replaced by a list: each row shows who the person is and a one-line summary of their access, and clicking opens their controls beneath the row. Tick several people to set a dashboard or turn Ask AI on or off for all of them at once. No sideways scrolling at any width.

  • Fixed

Publishing time edits is fast and sticks

    ·

Publishing a single time record change could take 30 seconds or more, and afterwards the row briefly showed the old value, as if the publish had failed. Publishing now only reads the records being changed, and the new values appear immediately once CORE confirms them. The result also says how long was spent reading and writing.

  • Fixed

WIP activity picker honors phase assignments

The Work in Progress panel offered the firm's whole activity list, and labelled many activities by category (showing "General" repeatedly). It now offers only the activities each phase allows in CORE, with their real names, exactly as the Project Center Time tab does, including when you move a record to another phase.

Saturday, July 25, 2026

  • New

    Filter inside each KPI panel

Each KPI panel now has its own filters for what its rows are: staff and role on Utilization, age, client and project on A/R, month on Collections, stage on Pipeline, and so on, with saved presets per panel. Headlines inside the panel follow the filter. On A/R, the aging bar filters by age and every open invoice shows by default.

  • New

Print a report from any KPI panel

    ·

Every KPI panel has a Report button that prints the view you are looking at: a summary page, then a page per person, client, project, month or stage. Staff Utilization prints each person's hours by project; WIP prints a billing sheet you can group by record, employee or activity; A/R lists each invoice with its phases. Every page states the period it covers.

  • New

See where each person's hours went

In the Staff Utilization panel, click a person to see their logged time by project, then phase, then activity, with each row's share of their utilization so the rows add up to their percentage. Activities in My Hours by Project, which had all read Unassigned, now show correctly too.

  • New

Work through WIP from the dashboard

    ·

The Work in Progress panel now lists every unbilled billable entry behind the number, with filters, grouping and subtotals. People with billing roles can change client hours, phase, activity and notes, one at a time or in bulk, then publish to CORE. Approved but unbilled time can now be edited here and on the Time tab; only billed time is locked.

  • Improved

    A richer project Overview

The project Overview gains a verdict tile with the margin, a status and a sentence on why, plus an actions tile ranking what to bill, collect, watch or protect. Phase rows can show numbers, bars or both, with billed and cost on one scale. From the WIP detail you can edit client hours and notes, and invoices open from the A/R detail. Colors follow your design template.

  • Improved

Backlog groups total their phases, and you can fix mismatches

    ·

In Backlog, a group of phases now shows the total of its phases instead of $0. When a group's contract in CORE does not match its phases, the note opens a dialog to spread or trim the amount across phases and see who has room, then publish.

  • Improved

Collections pairs billed and collected per client

The Collections month breakdown now shows one row per client with what was billed next to what was collected, so the two can be read together.

  • Improved

Drag the PM progress marker on the project page

    ·

Progress & assessment on the project Overview now uses the same draggable marker as the dashboard, with fee, earned and billed for each phase. The Contract and fee drill-down total now shows the overall billed percent of fee.

  • Improved

Time tab: Edit mode, notes and a clearer picker

    ·

A Review and Edit switch on the Time tab turns every editable cell into a field at once. Notes are now their own editable column. Approved but unbilled time can be edited. The phase picker shows the project structure, and the activity picker lists each activity by name, with the phase's own activities first. Phase moves that stalled now finish.

  • Fixed

    Invoice links open the invoice

    ··

Clicking an invoice showed a report request has expired message in CORE. Invoice links in A/R, Collections, the project Overview and the Scoreboard now open the invoice in CORE's web app.

Friday, July 24, 2026

  • New

Auto-staff a phase from its plan

    ·

Click Unstaffed on a phase to spread each person's planned hours across the phase's weeks, based on how much room they have, without overbooking anyone. A preview shows what fits and any shortfall before anything is written, and you can publish that phase to CORE right away.

  • New

Clear hours still booked on a finished phase

    ·

When a completed phase still has hours booked on Resource Allocation, the project health table flags it and offers to clear them. It shows the hours, people and date range first, clears only that phase, and can publish the change to CORE right away without touching anyone else's pending edits.

  • New

Sort and group the project team by title

A Sort menu on the project team reorders everyone at once by bill rate or name. Group by title puts people into title groups, ordered by average rate or by dragging a title. The same groups lead every phase on Team & Budget with their own hours, cost and value subtotals, and collapse to a budget by title. Phase totals and figures line up in clean columns.

  • Improved

Availability panel shows shortfalls by title

    ·

The availability panel on Team & Budget now lists titles instead of individuals, with one verdict such as Short 476h, and says when no one in a title has room. A finished phase says it has wrapped. You can raise a needs a hire flag for a title nobody can cover. The EAC tooltip on Resource Allocation now compares the plan against both the fee and the phase budget.

  • Improved

Budget fixes that respect titles and can be applied

    ·

Suggested fixes for an over-budget project now consider titles, so they no longer suggest shifting a principal's work to an intern as if nothing were lost. Suggestions merge per person, each can become a CORE to-do for the project manager, and an over-target phase on Team & Budget shows its own fixes with an Apply button that stages the change.

  • Improved

Project health shows spent, margin to date and at completion

The Fee, Budget, Billed Health table now pairs Fee with Invoiced and Target with Budgeted, adds actual Spent per phase, and shows margin to date or at completion. Phases with work left and no one scheduled read Unstaffed. Red is kept for losing money; amber means short of target, and small rounding misses no longer turn red. Every column explains its source.

  • Fixed

    Billed amounts match CORE

On a project's Overview, billed totals counted group rows and their phases twice, and included sales tax. Billed now matches CORE's Billed figure: fee only, each dollar counted once.

  • Fixed

Dashboard phase bars show what was invoiced

Expanded phase rows in the dashboard Projects section showed every phase as unbilled. They now show each phase's invoiced amount alongside earned value, with billed figures in the tooltip. A bad percent complete value no longer streaks across the page.

  • Fixed

    Saved filters keep their selections

    ·

Saving a filter preset on Project Center, and some on Resource Allocation and the dashboard sidebar, stored nothing, so applying it later restored no filters. Presets now save every selection. Presets saved while this was broken need their filters picked again and updated.

  • Fixed

Team & Budget hours match what you entered

For firms that sync staffing allocations into CORE budgets, Team & Budget added those synced hours to the hours you typed, so planned hours crept up after each staffing publish. It now shows only the budget you entered.

Thursday, July 23, 2026

  • New

    Milestones on your phase schedules

    ·

Add milestones (client reviews, approvals, deliverables, internal dates) to any phase from its schedule bar in Fees & Schedule or on Resource Allocation. They appear as diamonds on the bars, and weeks with milestones are tinted amber with a flag in the Resource Allocation header. Tick one off when done. When a phase's dates change in CORE, its open milestones shift with it.

  • New

    My Schedule shows upcoming milestones

    ·

Each week in My Schedule now opens with milestones on your projects, with a countdown for this week. Add a milestone to My To-Dos in one click, or flag a concern about it to your manager with the note already started. It also appears on the pinned dashboard Schedule card.

  • New

Set PM and principal per phase or group

Each phase on Team & Budget now has a settings gear in its header holding the fee schedule, Project Manager and Principal. Phases inherit the project's choices by default, and small chips appear only when a phase differs. Groups get their own gear, visible even when collapsed, that applies to every phase in the group. Changes publish to CORE like any other edit.

  • Improved

Forecast curve tooltip shows monthly and cumulative

Hovering the S-curve on the Revenue Forecasting overview now shows each series' amount for that month (or quarter) alongside its running total.

  • Improved

    Locked phase fees stay locked

    ·

Locking a phase's fee percent no longer nudges its dollar amount. A locked percent or dollar value now shows as plain text rather than an input box, and you unlock it to type a new value.

  • Improved

More room at the bottom of the screen

    ·

The footer now spans the full window and side panels and drawers end above it, so buttons like Submit week are never covered. The project viewer drops the old Back and Next bar, since tabs handle navigation.

  • Improved

    Staffing digest lists milestones ahead

    ·

The weekly staffing digest email now includes milestones landing in the next two weeks. The AI staffing insight also considers milestones and flags weeks where a milestone phase looks thinly staffed.

  • Improved

    Tidier new project wizard

New project setup steps now center as one composition on wide screens instead of leaving a large empty gap. The Create button stays visible in the footer on Review & Create, and the introductory sentence shows only on the first step.

  • Fixed

No more repeated principal changes and stray warnings

A principal or project manager change that had fully published could show up as staged again on every open, with a banner asking you to finish it in CORE. Those changes now publish to the phases quietly and stay settled, the banner is gone, and the drift notice only appears when you actually have changes staged.

  • Fixed

    Restructuring phases publishes correctly

Moving phases into a new group and publishing used to fail partway, with fee changes rejected by CORE. Moves now publish, fees are written after the structure settles, new groups are set up the way CORE expects (no unsupported hierarchy warning), phase order in CORE matches COREboards, and group dates in CORE are updated to span their phases. A group's fee now totals its phases instead of a stale CORE amount.

  • Fixed

Schedule bars show current phase dates

Phase dates changed in CORE or published from Project Center could take days to reach the schedule bars on Resource Allocation. They now appear on the next load.

Wednesday, July 22, 2026

  • New

Filter the calendar to several projects

The Time Card calendar filter now lets you tick several projects at once, and only projects and phases with logged time that week appear as choices, so a filter never empties the calendar.

  • New

Project totals stay in view on Team & Budget

While you build a budget phase by phase, KPI cards pinned under the tabs show planned hours, planned cost, contract, projected profit and margin, and realization for the whole project. They shrink to a one-line strip as you scroll. The phase you are editing is outlined and its header stays pinned. Hours now show thousands separators.

  • New

    Spot and fix out-of-date rates

On Team & Budget, a rose marker now appears on a cost rate that no longer matches the person's current cost, and on a bill rate that no longer matches the fee schedule. Click the marker to apply the current rate. The fee schedule panel flags stale cost rates the same way. Refresh now re-reads fee schedules, so rate changes made in CORE show up without reloading the page.

  • Improved

Clearer groups and fee schedule choices

In the Fee, Budget, Billed Health table, group rows are tinted so rollups stand out, with Expand all and Collapse all, and your expanded groups are remembered per project. The phase fee schedule picker shows the schedule's name instead of Inherit, and an amber Differs from project badge marks phases that use something else.

  • Improved

New phases follow your firm's naming

A phase you add in Project Center now takes a Project ID in the same style as its sibling phases, instead of a code that repeated the project number. When you rename a phase whose ID came from its name, the ID follows and shows as its own line in Review & publish. The project team area now explains that dragging names sets the order every phase uses.

  • Improved

Standard value and realization on fixed-fee phases

On Team & Budget, fixed-fee phases now label the rate columns Std $/hr and Std value instead of Bill, since those hours are never billed hourly. Each fixed-fee phase shows its realization: amber when priced under standard value, green when above, with a tooltip giving the write-down or premium and the effective rate.

  • Improved

Team order is shared and survives publishing

The order you drag the project team into is now saved for the whole firm and kept after publishing, instead of resetting to CORE's order. Team names are tinted by kind (blue for people, violet for vendors, amber for CORE groups) instead of carrying a label, and duplicate fee schedule choices are gone.

  • Fixed

Consultant budgets are saved to CORE

Consultant and other direct budgets typed on a phase were lost when you published. They now publish to CORE as budget expense lines under the matching consultant item for the phase's discipline, read back correctly, and existing hand-entered expense lines on the budget are kept.

  • Fixed

Contract drill-down shows the phase tree

The Contract and fee drill-down listed phases flat, showed $0 for groups whose fees sit on their sub-phases, and double-counted groups in the total. It now shows the phase hierarchy in CORE order, groups total their children, and the total counts each dollar once.

  • Fixed

    Faster, more dependable publishing

Publishing project changes to CORE is much faster, and one slow record no longer holds up the rest. Publishes that timed out, showed confusing errors, or reported failure after CORE had actually saved the changes are fixed. A retry no longer creates duplicate phases or budgets with (2) in their names, and budgets are created as project budgets instead of piling up in CORE's budget templates. Opening a project is faster too.

  • Fixed

One calendar event no longer creates two entries

    ·

Logging calendar events quickly could create two time entries for the same event on different projects. Just-logged events now stay linked to their entry.

Tuesday, July 21, 2026

  • New

Drag a planned phase onto your calendar

In the Time Card calendar, drag any phase from Planned this week onto the day and hour you want. The entry form opens with the phase already picked, and you can resize or move the block before logging. Logging no longer holds you on a spinner while CORE saves, and the calendar event card now offers overtime, invoice description and teammate tags up front. Entries that hung on Logging now save.

  • New

Publishing to CORE runs in the background

When you publish project changes, you can keep working. A pill at the top right shows the publish in progress, including how many changes have been written, and a card at the bottom right reports the result, with anything CORE refused shown right in the card. The publish keeps going if your connection drops, and reopening the project rejoins it.

  • New

Time tab for reviewing a project's time

    ·

Project Center gains a Time tab listing every time record on the project with filters, sorting, grouping by employee, role, phase or activity, and resizable columns. Managers can change client hours, billable status, phase and activity in place; changes are staged, then published to CORE with progress for each entry. A write-off action marks stale WIP billed. Billable, non-billable and no-charge entries each have their own badge.

  • Improved

Invoicing WIP loads in seconds and reads as a table

    ·

The WIP column and WIP detail on a project's Invoicing tab now load in seconds instead of a minute or more on large projects. The WIP records panel has column headers, shows employee hours and client hours side by side with hours and minutes, sorts by column, and filters by person and phase. Person names that were showing as dashes now appear.

  • Improved

    Logged calendar events stay visible

    ·

In the Time Card calendar review drawer, events you have logged now appear in a Logged group with their hours and phase. Click one to jump to its entry on the calendar, or delete a simple entry right from the row. If a time entry is deleted anywhere, its event returns to your suggestions. Dismissed events now stay dismissed on your other browsers and devices.

  • Improved

Project tabs reordered, one health table on Overview

Project tabs now run Overview, Settings, Fees & Schedule, Team & Budget, Time, Invoicing. Budget Health is no longer its own tab: it is merged with phase billing into one Fee, Budget, Billed Health table on the Overview, with a row per phase showing fee, target cost, labor, consultants, remaining budget, margin and billed.

  • Improved

Rebalance hours to people with the same role

Smart rebalance on Resource Allocation has a new Give to option: Anyone or Same role. With Same role, hours only move between people with the same CORE title. The review groups people by role and says plainly when a role has no room left.

  • Improved

Updated tours and a direct Help Center link

The Resource Allocation tour now walks through typing hours, drag-to-fill and the project schedule bar. The Dashboard tour has a new step on Customize. The User guide item in the ? menu now opens the full Help Center, while Guide to this screen keeps the side panel.

  • Fixed

Easier phase picking and hours entry when logging time

    ·

When logging time, the project and phase list now opens scrolled to the current choice and long phase names wrap instead of being cut off. Hours fields use one built-in quarter-hour stepper, so values like 7.25 are no longer clipped.

  • Fixed

    Hand-edited budget rates stay put

Rates you edited on a phase budget were replaced by the person's default rate the next time the project opened, and could then be written back to CORE on the next publish. Team & Budget now reads each phase's rates from the budget stored in CORE.

  • Fixed

Saving rates as a fee schedule no longer times out

Save these rates as a fee schedule could fail with a bare 504 error when CORE was slow. It now succeeds in those cases, and if CORE truly does not answer, the message says the schedule was left unchanged. The hours plan also has column headers that stay visible with every phase collapsed.

Monday, July 20, 2026

  • New

    Arrange your dashboard your way

A Customize button on the dashboard lets you reorder and hide KPI tiles, dismiss tiles for features your firm does not use, and pin My Schedule and My To-Dos as cards on the board. Your layout is saved per board and per Viewing as role. If you never customize, problem tiles still float to the top. Cards pack tightly, and everything can be reordered by keyboard.

  • Improved

Architects open to their schedule and to-dos

    ··

Architect and engineer dashboards now start with My Schedule and My To-Dos pinned and the Time Card open, and unpinning them sticks. The pinned Schedule card shows one week with arrows to step through weeks and a Today button. Cards size to their content, and you can drag a card's bottom edge to set its height.

  • Improved

My Hours by Project compares plan to actual

Under the My Hours by Project chart there is now a table by project, phase and activity showing the hours you logged next to the hours you were planned for, including planned phases you have not started, time left on each phase, the next few weeks of plans, off-plan work and billable percentage. Filters narrow the rows, and the chart has a legend so it reads without hovering.

  • Improved

Read and act on your flags in My Schedule

The Your flags strip in My Schedule is now a one-line summary that opens a panel listing each flag in full. Flags are split into notes from your manager and concerns you raised, each with project, phase, week and date. You can withdraw a concern you raised or mark a manager's note as read.

  • Fixed

Blank fee schedule rates no longer show as $0

    ·

The fee schedule panel showed $0 cost for people whose rate was left blank or stored as zero in CORE, and those people were quietly left out of budget suggestions. They now show the rate from their employee or vendor record, with an amber mark when a stored zero was overridden. Inactive employees and vendors now resolve their rates too.

  • Fixed

Clear help when Google skips calendar access

    ·

If Google connects your account without calendar permission, the Time Card used to show a linked calendar that never loaded events. It now refuses the broken connection and explains how to reconnect: on Google's consent screen, tick the box to view your calendar events. The Help Center covers the same steps.

  • Fixed

WIP and lifetime totals complete for large firms

    ··

For firms with a very large number of time entries, the newest entries were being left out of all-time totals, so unbilled WIP, profitability, forecast actuals and backlog could read low. All history is now included, and WIP on the Invoicing tab is calculated from each project's own records.

Saturday, July 18, 2026

  • New

Choose a design template for the app

    ·

The gear menu now offers design templates that restyle the whole app. Classic keeps the original look; Paper uses a warm paper background with a single blue accent. Your choice applies instantly without a flash on load and follows you to other devices.

  • New

See who is staffed on your projects this week

    ·

The Projects section of the dashboard gains a sidebar showing this week's staffing and your team's open to-dos for the projects in view. Phases group under their project, and each person's bar compares hours arranged against hours actually logged, turning red when the remaining work can no longer fit in the days left. Hover a name to see where their week really went. You can flag any line to send that person a note.

  • Improved

Disconnecting Google Calendar revokes access at Google

When you disconnect a Google calendar, COREboards now also revokes its access at Google, so it disappears from your Google account's list of authorized apps. The privacy policy now spells out which services receive Google data and what each one gets.

  • Improved

Drag a phase bar past the edge of the calendar

On the Fees & Schedule timeline, holding a phase bar against either edge now scrolls the calendar and extends it into earlier or later weeks, so you can drag a phase to dates that were not on screen.

  • Improved

Removing a teammate takes their phase hours too

On Team & Budget, removing someone from the project team now also removes their hours on every phase, so they no longer publish to CORE as budget lines for someone who has left the job. If they carry hours anywhere, a confirmation lists each phase and its hours before anything changes. The hours arrows on a phase now step by a whole hour instead of a quarter.

  • Fixed

Project edits are saved as a draft automatically

Unpublished edits in the project editor used to vanish on a refresh, a switch to another project, or a closed tab. Edits now save as a draft about a second after you stop typing, with a Saved indicator in the header. Discard asks first. If the project changes in CORE while you have a draft open, you are warned and both versions are kept. Dependency links between phases are now kept permanently.

Friday, July 17, 2026

  • New

A Projects section on your dashboard

    ··

Project manager, principal and CFO dashboards now list every active project in your scope below the KPIs. Each has a bar showing billed and earned value against the contract, the PM's % complete marker, the gap and open AR. Tap a project to expand its phases and drag your markers, even on a phone. Hover any bar for what each color means.

  • New

Ask a PM for a fresh % complete

    ··

If you can't set a project's % complete, you can request a fresh read from its project manager. The PM gets a CORE to-do linked to the project, which shows in My To-Dos, plus an email. When they next update the %, the request clears and the to-do is completed automatically.

  • New

The PM's % complete becomes an assessment

    ·

A project's stated % complete is now the project manager's call: only the manager of record or a firm admin can set it, per phase. The project figure is the fee-weighted total of its phases. On the earned value drill-in, drag the violet marker to set it and add a note. The gap to earned value is shown in dollars and points. Admins set gap and staleness thresholds in Settings.

  • Improved

Bill from the PM's % and spot projects that need attention

    ·

On the Invoicing tab, a % button fills a phase's amount with what the PM's % complete says is earned but unbilled. Warnings appear when that % is old or billing has run ahead of it. Project Center cards and rows now carry chips for earned value ahead of the PM's %, past-due receivables, and an out-of-date assessment.

  • Fixed

Sidebar and open panels stay steady as you move around

    ·

Clicking between screens made some sidebar icons vanish and reappear, and an open Time, My To-Dos, My Schedule or Ask AI panel closed, reloaded and lost anything half-typed. The sidebar now holds still, and an open panel stays open with its contents intact while the main screen changes. On phones, a panel left open no longer covers the dashboard when you return.

Thursday, July 16, 2026

  • New

    Arrange your sidebar

Drag sidebar icons to reorder them, or use Customize sidebar in the gear menu to reorder, hide items you don't use, and put the Panels group above or below Navigation. Your arrangement follows you to other devices. Panels (Time, My To-Dos, My Schedule, Ask AI) now sit in their own shaded group. Project Center has a new building icon.

  • Improved

Explain this screen, and tours that show as they tell

Explain this screen, in the Help menu, puts numbered notes on the live screen for every module, tab and view, including Project Center. Tours now switch to the tab or view they describe and open the menus they mention. There is a new Project guide that walks every tab of an open project, and the My Schedule tour shows logging time from your schedule. Note markers are now amber.

  • Improved

Group the Timeline and see it fill the screen

The Revenue Forecasting Timeline can now be grouped by client, project manager, principal or billable, with subtotals on each group, plus Expand all and Collapse all. The table fills the window down to the footer with the Billable forecast row pinned at the bottom, and the page no longer scrolls behind it.

  • Improved

Header reordered and a new date range menu

    ·

The header now reads AI Advisor, Help, your name, then the gear menu, so your name sits beside its settings. The dashboard's date range picker is now an in-app menu with the same presets and Custom range, and it works fully from the keyboard.

  • Improved

Overview tiles open the records behind them

Click Contract, Billed to date, Open AR or Unbilled WIP on a project Overview to see the records behind the number in a side panel: invoices, the phase fee breakdown, or the time and expenses in WIP, with sorting, grouping, subtotals and Expand/Collapse all. The panel widens to fit its table. The projected margin tooltip now works out the numbers for you: target, projected and the difference.

  • Fixed

    Forecasting advice appears in seconds

    ·

The AI Advisor on Revenue Forecasting could take about a minute to show a read it already had. It now appears in a second or two.

Wednesday, July 15, 2026

  • New

A new Help Center and screen-aware guide

Help has been rebuilt. The ? guide opens to the chapter for the screen you're on, with search across every topic. The same guide is published as a Help Center on the web that anyone can read, with annotated screenshots you can enlarge. Each screen now has its own short tour that runs once on your first visit, and you can turn off auto-start.

  • New

Notion pages on the project Overview

    ·

An admin can connect your firm's Notion in Settings under Connected apps. Then link a Notion page to any project, by search or by pasting its link, and its notes and to-dos appear on a Notion tile on the project Overview. Check off or add to-dos right there and they save to Notion. The tile refreshes on its own, and the picker explains how to share a page with COREboards.

  • New

See and edit phase dates on Resource Allocation

In the Projects view, each phase row carries a striped bar spanning its CORE start and end dates: green inside the dates, red where hours are planned outside them. Hover the bar to see the dates, the duration and how many hours fall outside. Editors can change the start or end date right there and publish it to CORE.

  • Improved

Log planned work in one click

In the Time Card's Calendar view, rows under Planned this week can be clicked to open the log form, just like a grid cell. The hours field selects its prefilled value when you click in, so typing replaces it. Billable, overtime and similar settings now sit under More fields when editing an entry.

  • Improved

Show dates on the Structure & Fees timeline

    ·

A Show dates switch beside Weeks, Months and Fit puts each phase's start and end dates under its bar, and the dates follow the bar as you scroll. Month labels no longer run together when a long schedule is fitted to the screen.

  • Fixed

Projects open in seconds, not minutes

Opening Project Center or a project could stall for a minute or more on Loading or Reading this project's vitals, especially at larger firms. The gallery, Overview and Invoicing tabs now load from COREboards' stored copy of your data and appear almost at once. The editing tabs finish loading in the background. Requests to CORE that hang now fail with an error instead of spinning forever.

  • Fixed

Time Card shows hours planned on Resource Allocation

    ·

Hours planned on Resource Allocation but not yet published to CORE showed as 0 planned on the Time Card, and logged time was labeled as having no allocation, even though My Schedule showed the plan. The Time Card now uses the same plan.

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

  • New

A project Overview you can arrange

Opening a project now lands on an Overview: contract, billed to date, unbilled work in progress, open receivables, projected margin, a billed-vs-cost curve, phase health, recent invoices and open to-dos. Hide or reorder tiles from the Customize menu, and your layout is saved. Every tile explains itself in plain English. Projects with no financial activity yet now show an Overview instead of an error.

  • New

Design your invoice and download it as a PDF

    ·

The Invoice Designer lets you style your firm's invoice: logo and placement, accent color, classic or modern look, a project summary strip and a footer. Save named templates and pick one for each project, like a fee schedule. Phases print grouped in your structure's order. Download any invoice as a PDF, or save the PDF to its record in CORE.

  • New

Invoicing tab: review WIP and draft invoices

    ·

Each project has an Invoicing tab (marked Alpha): contract, invoiced, remaining and unbilled WIP for every phase. Click any WIP amount to see the time and expenses behind it. Billing roles can adjust client hours in place and enter amounts for a new invoice. Preview it, then create it as a draft in CORE. A live list shows drafts and invoices, and projects with an open draft get a badge.

  • New

Project Center gallery with cover images

Project Center now opens on a Gallery: one card per project with its cover image (or generated artwork), status, phase count, contract, billed and progress. The table is still one click away with the Gallery/List switch. Upload or replace a cover from inside a project; images from the new project wizard carry over. Cards grow with your screen.

  • New

Step through projects with a side list

When you open a project from Project Center, the projects you were viewing appear in a list on the right. Click one, or use the up and down arrow keys, to move to the next project and stay on the same tab. The list has its own search box, can be collapsed, and can be dragged wider. Each project now shows its cover image full height beside its name.

  • Improved

    Filter, group and sort projects

Project Center has the same Filters menu as Resource Allocation, including saved presets: filter by status, project manager, principal, client and contract type. Group by client, PM, principal or status, and sort by number, recent activity, contract value or billed %. Your choices apply to both Gallery and List.

  • Improved

Link several calendars and manage them from one menu

    ·

The Time Card now has a Calendars menu to show or hide each linked calendar, review events, see what's been learned, and manage connections. You can link more than one account from the same provider, rename each one (the account email is shown), and drag them into order. Events can be grouped by calendar. Picking an activity for a calendar event now has type-to-search. Calendar feeds load faster.

  • Improved

Open any Benchmark card to see all three graphics

Click anywhere on a Benchmark KPI card to open its detail panel. The panel now shows the KPI as a strip, a gauge and a trend together, with a switcher to view just one, above the explanation of what it means and how to use it.

  • Improved

Timeline totals show over-estimate and absorbed work

On the Revenue Forecasting Timeline, the Billable forecast row now breaks each month or quarter into the billable total, the amber share planned past client estimates (still billable), and the red share of fixed-fee work past the remaining contract (done but not billable). Hover for a plain-English explanation.

  • Fixed

Project names and long review lists on Resource Allocation

Project headers in the People view could appear blank once the board opened scrolled to this week, so hours looked like they belonged to phases with no project. The names now stay visible. A long list of unpublished changes in Review now scrolls inside its own box instead of running off the bottom of the window.

Monday, July 13, 2026

  • New

Break-even and profit target lines on the revenue curve

    ·

Firms that keep a Scoreboard get a Baselines button on the Revenue Forecasting Overview. It adds two dashed lines to the curve, break-even and profit target, taken from your Scoreboard figures. With Baselines on, the curve shows this year's running totals from January 1, so revenue and costs cover the same months. Hover the button for an explanation.

  • New

Drag to fill hours across weeks

On Resource Allocation, each editable hours cell has a fill handle in its bottom-right corner, like a spreadsheet. Drag it along the row and every week you cover gets the same hours, ready to publish with your other changes. It works in the People and Projects views, including activity rows.

  • New

    Edit your firm's project templates

    ·

Review & Create now has Save as template. Edit template opens a real template editor: rename the template, set its default project manager, principal, fee schedule and target margin, and change its structure and team plan. Then update the template or save a copy as a new one. Nothing is written to CORE while you edit.

  • New

Look back at past weeks on Resource Allocation

Resource Allocation opens on this week with recent past weeks to the left, greyed and read-only so you can review history without changing it. Earlier loads more history, Later loads more weeks ahead (in place of the old Horizon choice), and Today jumps back to the current week.

  • New

Turn calendar events into time entries

    ·

Link Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, or an Apple or other calendar feed to your Time Card. Your events appear in the Calendar view with a suggested project, phase and activity for each. Log one or a whole batch in a click. Every event you log teaches COREboards, so similar events map themselves next time. AI suggests a project for events it hasn't seen before. You can review and edit what it has learned.

  • Improved

Calendar events right on your Time Card week

Events from linked calendars show on the Calendar view as dashed outlines with their title and time. Click one to map and log it in place. Dismiss events you don't want (they can be restored), turn each linked calendar on or off, and hide the events entirely if you like. Logged events stop being suggested and carry a small mark showing which calendar they came from.

  • Fixed

    Deleting unpublished changes works again

Deleting an unpublished change on Resource Allocation could fail with a technical database error. It now works, and error messages on the board are in plain English. Also fixed: adding an empty phase to a project under Needs staffing no longer drops the project from that list before you assign anyone.

  • Fixed

    Effective Capacity no longer overcounts

    ·

Effective Capacity counted every vendor and some inactive people as 40 hours a week of capacity, so some firms saw about twice their real capacity. Now only active employees and chosen vendor types count. Admins choose in Settings under Staffing capacity: contract employees count by default, outside consultants do not.

  • Fixed

New projects reach CORE with their budgets

Creating a project from the wizard could leave its budgets at $0 in CORE and report failed budgets and team allocations. Phases, budgets and allocations now all land correctly, and consultant and other direct budgets reach CORE as budgeted expenses. Project and phase names now follow the way your firm already names projects in CORE.

Sunday, July 12, 2026

  • New

    Add a project image

Basics in the new project wizard has an image uploader: drop in a rendering or site photo (up to 10 MB), then replace or remove it. It appears beside the wizard on wide screens. The image stays in COREboards and is not written to CORE.

  • New

Rebalance hours and update fee schedules from Team & Budget

    ·

Over-booked people in the availability panel get a Move control to shift hours to a teammate with room, and Smart reassign spreads the extra hours across free teammates in one click. People over-booked only by other projects are marked Over elsewhere. Phases past the 12-month outlook show Beyond outlook. Save as fee schedule can now update the existing CORE schedule as well as create a new one.

  • Improved

    A tidier Resource Allocation toolbar

Seven separate toggles (Hours or $, number or bar, heatmap mode, All phases, Focus, Compact rows and more) now live in one Display menu, with a badge when anything is changed from the default. The unpublished-changes count and Publish button sit in the toolbar, notices shrink to a row of small pills you can hover, and the Totals row looks like a total.

  • Improved

    Billed column in Project Center

The Project Center list now has a Billed column between Contract and Progress: the fee invoiced to date on each project, added up across its phases. It excludes reimbursable expenses and tax. Draft invoices are not counted. The delete button is back on draft rows under Pick up where you left off, with a confirmation first.

  • Improved

    Budget Health explains over-budget phases

    ·

On Budget Health, each group of phases can be expanded to show its sub-phases with their own fee, target profit, cost and margin. Hover the red dot on an over-budget phase for the numbers and suggestions, or click Fix to jump to that phase on Team & Budget. Allowable cost is now called Target cost, and Team & Budget turns a phase's cost amber or red when it runs past that target.

  • Improved

Per-person profit and aligned columns on Team & Budget

    ·

Each person's line on Team & Budget now shows its projected profit, and the number columns line up from group totals down to each person. Hovering a fixed-fee phase's profit explains when it differs from the per-person total. The hours table gets more room by default, and names in the availability panel stay next to their bars.

  • Improved

Project ID checks as you type

On Basics, the Project ID field shows your most recent ID and offers a one-click Use next when it ends in a number. As you type, COREboards checks CORE and tells you whether the ID is available or already used by a project of any status. A taken ID blocks Next.

  • Fixed

Every sidebar icon is reachable on short screens

On windows shorter than about 900px, the bottom sidebar icons (such as Ask AI and My Schedule) were cut off with no way to reach them. The sidebar now tightens its spacing and scrolls when needed.

  • Fixed

Inactive projects show up on Resource Allocation

Turning on Show inactive while Needs staffing was selected showed nothing. Inactive is now its own choice in the Show control, beside Staffed, All active and Needs staffing, and the selected choice is highlighted in blue so it is easy to see.

  • Fixed

Signing in no longer waits a minute

    ·

Some users waited a minute or more to get in when their firm's data hadn't been refreshed for a while. COREboards now shows the last saved figures right away and refreshes them in the background, with the age shown on screen. Firms without certain CORE modules no longer miss scheduled refreshes.

  • New

Change a phase's status right from the list

Every project and phase in Project Center shows its CORE status (Active, Completed, Hold, Inactive, Canceled, Draft). Click the status to pick a new one, and it is saved to CORE right away. If CORE keeps a different value, the list says so and shows what CORE kept.

  • New

Edit existing CORE projects and publish the changes

Projects opened in Project Center are now editable: basics (ID, name, client, manager, principal, fee schedule), phase fees, names, contract types, dates, the project team and hours plans. Edits wait in a counted list until you choose Review & publish, then only the differences are written to CORE, each with a clear result. Fixed-fee phases can be edited too. If CORE refuses a change, you see why and what to do in CORE instead.

  • New

Project Center: every CORE project in one place

    ·

The New project wizard grows into Project Center. Its home page lists your in-progress drafts, a New project button, and every CORE project, with phases grouped under their main project, client, status, contract and % complete, plus search and an Active/All switch. Open any project to see it in the same Basics, Structure & Fees, Team & Budget and Budget Health tabs as the wizard, with Back and Next to move between them.

  • New

Widen the name column on Resource Allocation

Long project and person names no longer have to wrap. Drag the divider on the right edge of the name column in the Projects and People views to make it wider. The width is remembered for each view.

  • Improved

A roomier wizard with role badges

The new project wizard drops its left column: step chips and a one-line project summary (name, client, fee, margin vs target, phases, team) now sit in a header on every step, so tables and the timeline get the full screen width. On Team & Budget each person's badge shows their CORE role, such as Principal or BIM Manager. Back and Next now sit together at the bottom right.

  • Improved

Resource Allocation headers stay put while you scroll

Resource Allocation now scrolls inside its own frame. The year, month and week headers, the name column and the Totals row stay pinned while you scroll in any direction, and the toolbar never scrolls away. Toolbar menus open above the pinned headers.

  • Improved

Revenue Forecasting shows data and advice side by side

    ·

On the Overview and Timeline tabs, the chart and project list sit on the left and the AI Advisor with its tasks sits on the right, with a divider you can drag to resize (double-click resets). On narrower screens the numbers come first and the advice follows below.

  • Improved

Shorter AI Advisor reads, dated and easy to trust

Advisor reads are now short on purpose: a summary of about 100 words, at most three findings and one to three tasks, on every board and in Ask AI. Each advisor panel header now shows the date of the read, and Refresh only appears when your numbers have changed since then. The Executive Brief in Action Center gets its own Refresh button.

  • Improved

    What-if follows Range and Month/Quarter

The What-if chart now responds to the toolbar: Range sets how many months ahead it shows (12, 24, year to date, or all), and By Quarter groups the bars into quarters with a matching quarterly target. Toolbar controls that don't apply to the current tab, such as Basis on What-if or Group outside Overview, are now greyed out with a note explaining why.

  • Fixed

Revenue Forecasting loads for large firms

On firms with many projects, Revenue Forecasting could show $0 for Earned, Invoiced and Paid, and the AI Advisor could fail with an unreadable error, because loading took longer than allowed. Those pages now have enough time to finish loading the first time, and later visits are fast.

  • Fixed

Team & Budget fixes in the new project wizard

Dragging a team member to reorder could show a ghost duplicate of that person in a phase roster; that no longer happens, and older drafts are repaired when opened. Phases carrying only consultant or other direct costs now show their cost, profit and margin, and group totals include them. The Project Total bar on Structure & Fees no longer hangs below the card.

Friday, July 10, 2026

  • New

    Repeating time entries

On the Time Card calendar, set Repeat on a new or existing entry (every day, weekday or week, ending after a count or on a date), or drag a block's round handle across days to copy it. Each copy is its own CORE entry. You can later move or delete one, this and all future, or the whole series; submitted entries are skipped. The calendar updates at once while CORE finishes in the background.

  • Improved

Click a calendar block to edit just that entry

Clicking a block on the Time Card calendar now opens that entry's editor directly, without the rest of the day's list or the add form. A locked block opens its own details instead of a blank new entry. The activity gets its own line on blocks tall enough to show it, and hover tips match the app's style.

  • Improved

Fee schedules set rates in Team & Budget

Bill and cost rates in Team & Budget now come from the project's CORE fee schedule, and each phase can use a different schedule. Employee and vendor groups on a schedule are priced too. Any rate can be edited; edited cells are marked with a reset button, survive a schedule change, and can be saved to CORE as a new fee schedule. Drag the project team to set the order used in every phase.

  • Improved

Focus on fees or the timeline

A Both / Fees / Timeline switch in Structure & Fees gives the full width to whatever you're working on. Weeks and Months zoom now scroll the chart properly instead of squeezing phase names. The Project Total stays pinned at the bottom. The back-bill checkbox was removed.

  • Improved

    Launch gets its own page

    ·

Launch is now a page in the left sidebar, below Benchmark, instead of a side panel. On a large screen, a steps list and a live Your project summary (name, ID, client, fee, margin, phases, team) sit on the left while you work. The Start step leads with your latest draft to resume and previews each way to begin. Back and Next stay pinned at the bottom.

  • Improved

Plan up to 52 weeks ahead

A Horizon control on Resource Allocation lets you look 12, 26 or 52 weeks out, remembered for your firm. The week grid scrolls sideways with names pinned on the left, and a year and month header with shaded alternate months keeps long horizons readable.

  • Improved

Quicker cell edits in Resource Allocation

    ·

Hover a filled cell in the Projects view and click the × to clear it without opening the plan panel. Hovering a person's OVER or FULL tag shows their week by project, so you can see what to trim. The toolbar and Report button stay pinned while you scroll. After adding a phase, you can bring over anyone on the roster. On iPad, the cell panel no longer hides behind the keyboard.

  • Improved

Revenue Forecasting explains billing vs. progress

    ·

The Details tab is now Timeline, and it follows the Range and By Month/Quarter controls. A chip shows how far invoicing is ahead of or behind work done, and hovering a Remaining figure tells the story (fee, invoiced, left to invoice, work still ahead). Every red or amber figure explains itself on hover. Revenue Forecasting also gets AI Advisor notes for the board and each project.

  • Improved

Staff unstaffed phases and on-hold projects

Two new toggles in the Projects view. All phases shows phases nobody is planned on yet, in CORE order, so you can drop hours straight onto them. Inactive adds projects on hold, inactive or in draft (not completed or canceled), each with a status badge, so you can plan future work early.

  • Fixed

    Report menu stays on screen

On some pages the Report button's download menu opened past the edge of the window and was cut off. It now always opens fully on screen, wherever the button sits.

  • Fixed

    Resource Allocation fixes

Phases created from Resource Allocation were being made as containers in CORE, so no one could log time to them; they are now normal phases. Clicking away from a cell panel no longer also collapses the row underneath. Choosing Needs staffing when the count was 0 no longer blanks the page. Numbers in a row stay lined up when a cell has a tag or note.

Thursday, July 9, 2026

  • New

Add a new CORE client from Launch

    ·

The Client picker in Launch's Basics step is now searchable and has Add a new client at the top. The form matches CORE's own: company or individual, name fields, and a Display as name filled in for you. The client is created in CORE immediately and selected.

  • New

    Calendar view on Time Card

Time Card has a Calendar view beside the grid, by week or day. Drag on a day to log time, drag a block to move it, drag its edge to resize, or hold Option or Cmd to duplicate. Untimed entries wait in a No time set lane. Blocks show project, phase and activity at real CORE start times. Choose the hours shown (8 AM to 5 PM by default) and filter to one project.

  • New

Connect HubSpot to see deals as pursuits

    ·

HubSpot is now a connected app. Once connected, your open deals sync daily and appear as tentative pursuits in Resource Allocation's Capacity view and the Revenue Forecasting What-if tab. COREboards only reads from HubSpot; nothing is written back.

  • New

    Earned value on Revenue Forecasting

A project's detail panel on Revenue Forecasting now has an Earned value card: cost performance, schedule performance, margin to date and estimated margin at completion, with a plain sentence on where it's heading. Use Budget as the basis when phases have CORE budgets. A Costs line joins the chart, the project list can sort by cost performance worst first, and a % complete history shows how each project progressed. The panel can be resized.

  • New

    New per-person pricing

COREboards is now priced per person rather than per CORE license. A person is anyone who can track time in CORE (active employees and contract staff). Before checkout, the billing page previews your count, the monthly or annual total and the exact price.

  • New

    Update a project's % complete from COREboards

    ·

Editors can use Update % complete in the % complete history card to record the project's percent complete. COREboards writes it to CORE, confirms it saved, and adds a row to the history showing who recorded it. This works for the whole project; CORE doesn't allow it for individual phases.

  • New

User guide in the Help menu

The ? menu now has a User guide: a searchable side panel covering every board and panel, troubleshooting and common questions. Search opens the matching sections. The ? menu also now offers the right page tour on the Dashboard with side panels open and on Resource Allocation and Action Center pages.

  • New

    Weekly AI Advisor email (opt-in)

    ·

Admins and leaders can turn on "Email me the weekly AI Advisor digest" in Settings. Monday mornings it sends the Executive Brief (headline, findings and trends) with your top pending Action Center tasks. It's off by default, respects the admin's AI Advisor switch, and has one-click unsubscribe.

  • Improved

Clear out stale Action Center suggestions

The Action Center's task list has a new control: pick Older than 7, 14, 30 or 60 days and dismiss every pending suggestion past that age in one click. Suggestions left untouched for 30 days now expire on their own. Dismissed items can still be restored and won't be suggested again.

  • Improved

    Context beside the Basics form

On a wide screen, Launch's Basics step shows helpful context next to the form: project IDs already in use, the client's other projects, what the project manager and principal are running, and a sortable table of the chosen fee schedule's rates by person or group, with each role.

  • Improved

Early warning for projects heading over fee

The Profitability drawer now shows a red strip when active fee projects are on pace to finish over their fee, with a chip per project showing how much. Click a chip to open that project's phases, where a new line shows the estimated cost at completion and how far over or under the fee it lands.

  • Improved

Launch templates keep the team and start today

Saving a Launch draft as a template now keeps the whole staffed plan: the project team and each phase's people and hours. When you apply a template with a schedule, the dates slide forward so the first phase starts today, keeping every phase's length and the gaps between them.

  • Improved

More detail in a Time Card entry

An expanded time entry now shows CORE's Classification and, when it differs from hours worked, the Client hours (a write-up or write-down), under a More fields section alongside Move to another day, Status and Entry date. The add-entry form in the grid sits in its own titled card. Unsubmit shows a spinner while CORE responds.

  • Improved

Project colors and planned hours on the calendar

On the Time Card calendar, pick each project's color from a named swatch chart. A Planned this week summary above the calendar shows logged vs. planned hours for each project and phase, including phases you haven't touched yet and time logged outside the plan. The quick log form tucks Billable, Overtime, Extra, Comp time, description and tags under More fields, and + memo puts your cursor straight in the memo box.

  • Improved

Resource Allocation respects CORE project assignments

When a CORE project limits who can log time to it, Smart Rebalance now prefers people on that list. Anyone off the list is shown in an amber group, and the Add person picker marks them. Publishing adds them to the project's CORE assignment list so they can log time; if CORE refuses, your admins get an email saying who to add where.

  • Improved

Revenue Forecasting PDF matches the screen

    ·

The Revenue Forecasting PDF's phase detail now prints exactly what the board shows, including unstaffed and hourly phases, so fees add up the same way. It adds progress bars per project, the Costs line on the firm chart, and a new Earned value table listing the projects with the worst cost performance first.

  • Improved

Steer Smart Rebalance before you save

Smart Rebalance is no longer all-or-nothing. Choose to balance to 100%, 105% or 110% of capacity, untick anyone you want left alone, or keep hours off a particular person; the proposal recalculates as you go. Smart Rebalance is now also on the People view, from a toolbar button and an icon on each week.

  • Improved

Text size and theme move to a Display panel

    ·

The A-/A+ buttons in the header moved as you clicked them. Text size (100%, 110%, 120%, 130%, with Reset) and Light/Dark now sit in a Display section at the top of the gear menu, which stays open while you adjust.

  • Improved

    The AI Advisor notices trends

COREboards now keeps a daily record of your firm's headline KPIs, and the AI Advisor reads the direction as well as today's level. For example, it will point out that total AR has climbed eight weeks running. It also watches projects on pace to overrun their fee and gives a specific fix.

Wednesday, July 8, 2026

  • New

Capacity view: 12 months of demand vs. capacity

Resource Allocation gains a Capacity view: firm demand against real capacity (minus PTO and holidays) for the next 12 months, per-studio strips, and a list of exceptions (overbooked stretches, bench gaps, a revenue gap) with a fix for each. Toggle in tentative work from CORE opportunities, draft projects and projects on hold, sketch hours by studio, and save named scenarios. The weekly staffing email and PDF gain the outlook too.

  • New

Schedule phases on a Gantt chart

Structure & Fees now includes a timeline column: drag a phase's bar to move it, drag its ends to resize, and drag its dot onto another phase so it follows that one. Moving a phase shifts everything after it. Groups show the span of their phases, and the project's CORE start and due dates come from the schedule. Click a bar for exact dates, copy and paste ranges, and undo with Cmd+Z.

  • New

Upload your P&L to fill in Benchmark numbers

    ·

Total expenses and total labor come from your Profit & Loss, not CORE. In Benchmark's Manage numbers, Upload P&L reads a PDF from any accounting system and proposes those figures, each with the line it came from. Nothing saves until you click Save. The file isn't stored; a summary of what was read is kept for later. Field labels and help now match real P&L lines.

  • New

Utilization lenses: where the time went

    ·

The Staff Utilization drawer and Team Financials now have a Lens toggle: Billable (unchanged), Project, Productive and Logged. The other lenses show a stacked bar per person splitting hours into billable, non-billable client work, marketing, overhead and PTO, with a hover breakdown. PDF reports gain a matching "Where the time went" chart and lens table. Team Financials also gets AI Advisor notes.

  • New

    What-if tab on Revenue Forecasting

A new What-if tab shows monthly revenue against your Scoreboard target, with tentative pursuits drawn as ghost bars on top of confirmed work and plain sentences about where the gaps are. It uses the same pursuit mix you pick in Resource Allocation's Capacity view. Hover a month for a breakdown.

  • Improved

Confirm before deleting data you can't get back

Deleting a logged time entry, discarding a running timer, deleting a team to-do, disconnecting an integration, or removing planned hours now asks first, naming exactly what will be removed. Rows with nothing on them still remove in one click.

  • Improved

Fold away AI notes and tasks in a KPI drawer

    ·

In a KPI drawer, the AI Advisor notes and the suggested tasks are now two separate panels, each with its own collapse arrow, so you can keep just the KPI's own data in view. Your choice is remembered across KPIs and sessions.

  • Improved

KPIs the BQE report didn't publish are marked

Some KPIs first appeared in the 2026 BQE report, so earlier years showed your value with empty stats. Those cards now carry a "Not in the BQE report" badge and a short note, on screen and in the PDF and CSV. Manage numbers also stays open after Save so you can keep adjusting.

  • Improved

Plan the team the way CORE does

Team & Budget starts with one project team of CORE employees, vendors and groups, published as CORE project assignments (leave it empty to let anyone in the firm log time). Hours by phase are optional and become a CORE budget. Pick several people at once, or add the whole team to chosen phases in one step. Copying a past project brings its team and budgets along.

  • Improved

Price phases with locks and a fee calculator

In Launch's Structure & Fees step, the Contract Type list matches CORE's exactly, and each phase can inherit its group's type or set its own, with Fixed and Hourly fees in separate columns. A calculator sets a group's fee as a percent of construction cost or units times a rate. Each phase's dollars or percent can be locked; unlocked phases absorb whatever remains, and a red flag appears when the split doesn't add up.

  • Improved

See profit and availability while planning hours

    ·

The Team & Budget hours plan shows cost and bill value per line, phase totals lined up over each column, and profit against your target margin. An availability panel checks each person's existing bookings across the phase's dates, lists what they're already on, flags overbooking and suggests others with free time who can be added in one click.

  • Fixed

Past-year FTE counts who actually worked then

Benchmark used today's headcount as the FTE figure even for a past year, which skewed per-FTE KPIs for firms that have grown. FTE now counts the people who logged time in that year, weighted by months worked and part-time hours. A manual override still wins.

Tuesday, July 7, 2026

  • New

Admins can turn off the AI Advisor per person

    ·

In Users & access, a new AI Advisor switch on each person lets firm admins reserve the Advisor for chosen people, such as leadership only. It's on for everyone by default. A switched-off person sees no Advisor content anywhere, and the header toggle disappears for them. The Admin column now uses the same switch style.

  • New

    Download the original BQE report

    ·

When the original BQE Benchmarking report is available for the year and discipline you're viewing, the Report menu offers an "Also download" option that saves the BQE PDF alongside your COREboards report.

  • New

Scoreboard becomes an add-on with per-person seats

    ··

The Scoreboard is now an optional add-on. Firms already using it keep it with no change. Firms without it see a locked preview with a way for an admin to add it. In Users & access, admins can give a Scoreboard seat to anyone, not just leadership; editing still needs a leadership role.

  • Improved

Benchmark report and a guide for every KPI

    ·

Benchmark now has a Report button (PDF and CSV). The PDF pairs each KPI's value, trend and quartiles with the survey's guidance. On screen, clicking a KPI's name opens a guide with its formula, how to use it, and how every firm-size band compares. The explanation speaks to your number ("your firm spends $2.25 on overhead for every $1.00 of direct labor") and your gap to the median.

  • Improved

Choose how each Benchmark card looks

Benchmark cards now come in three styles: a benchmark strip with quartile zones, the classic gauge with a year-over-year chip, and a trend panel against the industry's middle range. View options (a side panel that leaves the board usable) lets you pick a style per group, toggle each stat, and hide or restore KPIs. Your choices follow you across devices.

  • Improved

Choose which boards use the AI Advisor

    ·

The AI Advisor switch in the header now opens a list of modules (Dashboard, Action Center, Ask AI, Resource Allocation, Scoreboard, Benchmark) so you can turn the Advisor on only where you want it. Benchmark gets its own Advisor brief. Changes show up on your other open devices within seconds, without a refresh.

  • Improved

Connecting a firm needs a CORE admin

A CORE user with limited access could connect a firm, which left the firm's data incomplete. Connecting now checks for full CORE admin access before anything is saved; if it's missing, you're asked to have your CORE admin connect instead.

  • Improved

See all active projects in Resource Allocation

The Projects view used to list only projects that already had allocations. A new Show control switches between Staffed (the default), All active and Needs staffing, with counts on each, so you can run a staffing meeting off the full project list. There's also a Status filter and a pinned Totals row with each week's planned hours across every project shown.

  • Improved

The welcome tour opens every area

The welcome tour is now one top-to-bottom pass that actually opens each area as it introduces it: Dashboard, Action Center, Resource Allocation, Revenue Forecasting, Scoreboard, Benchmark, then the Time Card and My Schedule panels. Benchmark gets its own page tour. You can step through any tour with the arrow keys, Enter or Space.

  • Fixed

All suggested tasks now reach the Action Center

Resource Allocation, the Scoreboard, Benchmark and Ask AI all send their suggested tasks to the Action Center, but only Dashboard KPI tasks were actually showing there. The other groups now appear too, with the same access rules as their boards.

Monday, July 6, 2026

  • New

Benchmark: your firm vs. the BQE survey

A new Benchmark page compares your firm's annual numbers with the BQE Architecture and Engineering Benchmarking Reports, one gauge per KPI, matched to your discipline and firm size. Most figures are computed from CORE; the rest you enter in Manage numbers. Each year is compared on the same performance year (the 2026 report measures 2025). You can also set your own custom benchmark and reset it to BQE's official numbers.

  • New

Submit time for approval, copy last week, run a timer

Time Card now follows CORE's approval workflow: each entry shows whether it is draft, submitted, approved, rejected or billed, and you can submit a week or a single day. Copy last week fills an empty week with last week's entries as drafts. Click a day header to review that day. A timer (shared with CORE's own) logs a draft entry when you stop it. Submitting a week takes seconds, not a minute.

  • Improved

Check-in shows which fields are still blank

The count on the Scoreboard's Monthly check-in button now also appears on the Your entries heading, and each manual row still waiting for a number gets an amber dot. Both count down as you fill fields in, so it's clear exactly which entries the badge means.

  • Improved

Planned hours bar on every Time Card phase

Every phase row in the Time Card grid now carries a same-length bar beside its name: filled green (red when over) for phases you're allocated to, plain grey when there's no allocation this week. Hover it for planned vs. logged, broken down by activity. The grid also gets a standard Expand all / Collapse all button, a set-apart Total column, and opens wider by default.

  • Improved

Time entries open to show every CORE field

Each entry in a Time Card cell is now a quiet row (status, activity, hours) that expands to CORE's full detail: project, activity (changeable within the phase), allocation with hours left, Billable, Overtime, Extra and Comp flags, description, memo and Move to another day. Every field saves as you go. Typed hours save when you click away or press Enter, and the day review groups phases under one project heading.

  • Fixed

Side panels stay open when you change pages

An open side panel (Ask AI, Time Card, My To-Dos, My Schedule) used to close when you moved to Revenue Forecasting, the Scoreboard or back to the Dashboard. It now stays open across pages.

  • Fixed

Time-based KPIs no longer go blank for a whole firm

In some cases a firm's background data refresh could run under a CORE login that couldn't see time entries, and every time-based KPI went blank for everyone at the firm, owners included. A refresh without full access no longer replaces good data, so those KPIs stay filled in.

Sunday, July 5, 2026

  • New

Install Time Card as a desktop app

The pop-out Time Card window can now be installed as its own "COREboards Time" app in Chrome or Edge, with an Install app button in the window itself. It opens in a clean framed window with the COREboards header, so you can keep your timesheet on a second monitor like any other desktop app.

  • New

Launch: build a new CORE project step by step

An early version of the Launch wizard is available to editors. Start from a template, a copy of a past project, or scratch, then shape the phase tree, price it, plan the team, check budget health and review before COREboards creates the project in CORE. Drafts save automatically. If a create step fails, retry picks up where it stopped. Firms can save their own templates beside the built-in starters.

  • Fixed

Time Card pickers show the whole list

The activity dropdown in a time entry (and the add-project picker) was cut off at about two rows, so it looked like there was nothing more to choose. The list now opens as a full-height, scrollable menu with the search box pinned on top. Also, if your sign-in isn't linked to a CORE employee, Time Card now shows that message once instead of retrying over and over.

Saturday, July 4, 2026

  • Improved

    Backlog explains each number

In the Backlog drill-down, hovering a row shows the math: contract at that level minus earned (billed plus WIP) equals remaining. When a group's phases don't add up, it says by how much and what to fix in CORE.

  • Improved

KPI details open beside the dashboard

Opening a KPI's detail no longer dims the dashboard. The panel sits on the right while the tiles stay clickable, so you can switch metrics in one click, with the active tile highlighted. Drag its edge to resize; the width is remembered. It stays open when you move to other views, and the tiles rearrange to fit the space left.

  • Improved

Phase timeline shows fees and progress

The phase timeline in Revenue Forecasting now lists every phase in CORE order, grouped by folders you can collapse. Each bar is the phase fee, filled with planned and logged dollars, with overruns in red, plus Planned, Logged and difference columns. The phase table shows full dollar amounts and folder totals. Clicking a project opens it in a side panel, so you can click from project to project.

  • Improved

See the records behind a Scoreboard number

Every number that comes from CORE carries a CORE tag. Click it to open a side panel listing the payments, invoices, projects or people that make up that number, with a total that matches. Columns sort, many lists group by month, client or project, and invoices link into CORE. The panel can be resized and leaves the Scoreboard usable beside it.

  • Improved

See whether real-time sync is on

    ·

The firm admin screen now shows whether live updates from CORE are arriving: green with the time of the last update, or an amber note with the one-time fix (reconnect your firm to CORE and approve access). Until then, data still refreshes every 30 minutes and on demand.

  • Improved

Time panel: memos, live updates, own window

Logged entries now show and let you edit their CORE memo. The open week refreshes on its own when you return to the tab and every minute, so time entered in CORE appears without reopening. A new button pops the Time panel out into its own window for a second monitor.

  • Improved

Type hours straight into the People grid

On the People lens you now edit hours right in the grid. Click a cell and type; a bar in the cell shows the week's load as you go. Arrow keys, Tab and Enter move between cells like a spreadsheet, and small arrows nudge by 0.25 hours. Phases with several activities expand in place to one editable row per activity.

Friday, July 3, 2026

  • New

Contract staff and consultants on Resource Allocation

Vendors set up in CORE as contract employees or outside consultants now appear on the board like staff, with a Contract badge. You can plan and publish their hours, edit them anywhere they appear, and remove a vendor with no hours from the People list (Show brings them back).

  • New

Download any dashboard as a PDF

    ·

A Report button on every role dashboard downloads a PDF of what you're viewing: a cover with the executive brief and one page per KPI, including team utilization, reviews, team to-dos (grouped as in your pane) and your own hours. Pick Letter or A4 and orientation. Printing uses existing Advisor text and never runs new AI. Files are named with your name and the date.

  • New

Reports for staffing, forecast and Scoreboard

    ··

Report buttons now appear on Resource Allocation (for editors), Revenue Forecasting and the Scoreboard. The staffing PDF includes a capacity summary, open flags, a person-by-week grid and project fee burn. The forecast PDF mirrors your current view and filters. The Scoreboard downloads as a PDF or a CSV, with adjusted numbers marked.

  • New

    Smart rebalance a week

Smart rebalance moves work off anyone over capacity onto people with room, in quarter-hour steps, starting with the same phase. Launch it from the Projects toolbar (it opens the first week that needs it) or from a week's column header. Review before and after per person, then save to the grid as unpublished changes. Balanced weeks stay lit, changed cells show what they were, and Undo reverses it.

  • Improved

AI Advisor switch moves to the header

    ·

The AI Advisor on/off switch now sits in the header, beside the dark mode switch, on every page, instead of in the dashboard's filter row.

  • Improved

CORE folders appear as nested groups

    ··

Holding folders you set up in CORE, like Basic Services or Consultants, now show under their project in the Resource Allocation Projects lens (with weekly totals), in the Time panel, and in the phase pickers for Time and My To-Dos, matching CORE's Structure screen.

  • Improved

Create phases and remove people from the board

When adding a phase on Resource Allocation you can now create a new phase in CORE under the project or one of its folders. A hover button removes a person from a phase (published hours are deleted from CORE on publish). Unfilled roles can be created by typing a name in the Add person picker, and deleted from the People lens, where their button now lives.

  • Improved

Publish only the changes you select

In the unpublished-changes list, tick the changes you want and publish, hold, include or delete just those. Everything else stays pending.

  • Improved

    Scoreboard brief, reminders and adjustments

    ··

The Scoreboard gains an AI monthly brief (beside the data, or as a strip above the Grid, and it can pop out into its own window), plus a monthly email reminding editors to do the check-in. Any number from CORE can now be adjusted and shows an adjusted mark, and a closed month can be reopened. Missing data shows a dash rather than $0.

  • Improved

See who has room from the Projects lens

On the Projects lens, each person on a phase now has a bar showing their total load that week across all projects: green has room, amber is near full, red is over. Full weeks say FULL and overbooked weeks show the extra hours. You can hide the bars. Heatmap colors now use the same green, amber and red bands as the rest of the board.

  • Improved

Time panel: Projects view and quicker adding

A Phases or Projects switch shows one row per project, and clicking a project's day lets you pick the phase. Each project has a + that opens its phase list right away. Hide empty rows, grid lines to follow a day down the list, and names that wrap rather than cut off make long timesheets easier to read.

  • Fixed

    Manual invoices now count

    ·

For firms that bill manual invoices in CORE, the Invoiced and Paid lines on the Revenue Forecasting curve stayed flat at $0, and Backlog understated what was earned. Both now include those invoices.

  • Fixed

Phased contracts no longer counted twice

    ··

On Resource Allocation and Revenue Forecasting, projects with phases showed about double their contract because the project total and its phase fees were both added. Totals now match the dashboard. When a project's phase fees don't add up to its contract in CORE, the project detail now points it out.

  • Fixed

    Publishing no longer stalls

Publishing to CORE could hang for about a minute and a half. A single change CORE could not accept now shows up quickly as a conflict, and hidden leftover changes for past weeks no longer get sent with every publish.

Thursday, July 2, 2026

  • New

    A guided tour of COREboards

New users get a step-by-step tour that highlights the sidebar and header, then opens a KPI detail panel, the Time and Schedule panels and Resource Allocation to show what's inside. Replay it, or take a shorter tour of the Dashboard, Action Center, Resource Allocation or Revenue Forecasting, from the new ? Help menu in the header.

  • New

    The Firm Scoreboard

A new leadership page tracks about 40 annual targets against monthly actuals across business development, financials, projects, profitability, staff, culture and marketing. Most metrics fill in from CORE. The monthly check-in collects the few only your firm knows, and Close month freezes the numbers. Overview shows bullet bars and sparklines against pro-rated targets; Grid shows the months side by side.

  • Improved

Multi-phase projects fold into one row

On My Schedule, a project with two or more phases in a week now shows as one summary row with total hours. Click it to see its phases, where you log or flag each one just as before.

  • Fixed

Former staff drop off user lists

    ·

The admin Users list kept adding inactive and departed employees and never removed them, and the Tag teammates picker showed them too. Both now match CORE's active employees and stay in sync on each refresh. Admins and people who have signed in are never removed automatically.

Wednesday, July 1, 2026

  • Improved

A/R aging buckets by invoice age

Accounts Receivable now ages open invoices by invoice date in standard bands (0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90, 91 to 120, 121+ days), instead of days past due, so the first bucket shows recent billing. Overdue invoices are still marked individually.

  • Improved

Edit, delete and move logged time

    ·

In the Time panel, a cell now lists the entries already logged there so you can change hours, billable or memo, or delete them. Drag a day's time to another day, or use Move to. Time CORE has locked (submitted, approved or billed) shows read-only with the reason. Memos now land in CORE's Memo field, and My Hours This Week updates as soon as you log.

  • Fixed

Dashboards load when a CORE module is missing

    ·

Firms whose CORE plan or user package lacks a module (Invoicing, Time & Expense, CRM) could get a blank or broken dashboard. Now the board loads, and tiles that need the missing module appear greyed out with a note on what to add in CORE, instead of showing a misleading $0. A plain-language screen explains any access problem, and reconnecting can't replace a working connection with one that lacks access.

Tuesday, June 30, 2026

  • New

A weekly timesheet in the Time panel

The Time panel is now a week grid: your scheduled phases (plus anything logged) grouped under their project, days across the top with dates and daily totals pinned, and a progress line like "32 of 40h". Scheduled phases show planned against logged. Click a cell to log. Weekends show on request, and Today and a calendar picker jump between weeks. The side panel can also be dragged wider.

  • New

Forecast tile on the leadership dashboard

    ·

A new Forecast tile shows forward revenue from committed work. Choose a basis: Schedule spreads remaining contract over each project's schedule, Staffing plan uses allocated hours times rate, and Auto picks the right method per contract type, using your CORE billing schedule first where you have one. The detail panel shows the curve and a tree of remaining backlog by contract type, project and phase.

  • Fixed

Won and lost deals leave the open pipeline

Deals in a Won or Lost stage no longer count toward the open Sales Pipeline, even when CORE has no close date for them.

Monday, June 29, 2026

  • New

    Rename dashboards for your firm

    ·

Admins can rename any dashboard firm-wide in Settings. The new names appear in the board switcher, page title, Action Center and Resource Allocation. The Architect board can use {name} to show each viewer's own name.

  • Improved

Staff Utilization table gets more useful

The desktop Staff Utilization table gains a Columns menu to hide Billable, Logged, Capacity or Target, sortable columns, info tips, and Group by role with collapsible subtotals. Each row, subtotal and the firm total now show a utilization bar with a tick at the target.

  • Fixed

    Dashboards load much faster

    ·

Some firms waited 60 to 90 seconds for the dashboard. The background data refresh now covers every firm reliably, a newly connected firm gets its data prepared right away, and choosing All dates no longer re-reads the firm's entire history each time.

Sunday, June 28, 2026

  • New

    Connected apps, starting with Harvest

    ·

Settings has a new Connected apps card. Firm admins can connect Harvest with an access token and account ID, test the connection, and run a sync that reads projects, people and time (nothing is ever written back). Other timekeeping apps appear as coming soon.

  • New

    Dark mode

A moon and sun switch in the header (and in the phone menu) turns on dark mode across the app. Your choice is remembered. Colored callouts, badges and highlighted rows are adjusted so they stay readable in the dark.

  • Improved

Dashboard opens on the last 90 days

    ·

The dashboard now always opens on Last 90 days, even if you last used a wide range like All dates, which had made sign-in take close to a minute. Changes you make during a visit stick. If you want your last range back each time, turn on Remember my date range in Settings, Dashboard.

  • Improved

Filter by principal and project type

    ·

The Filters menu on Resource Allocation and Revenue Forecasting adds Principal and Project Type. Saved presets now keep every filter (some were being dropped) and save filters only, so applying a preset no longer changes your grouping on other lenses.

  • Improved

Filter Project Profitability; better filter lists

Project Profitability now has manager, principal and client filters, like Accounts Receivable, and its totals and chart follow them. In every filter list, your current selections move to the top, the Clear link stays in view, long lists get a search box, and A/R and Profitability have a Clear all.

  • Improved

One compact planning panel per cell

Clicking a cell on the People or Projects lens now opens one compact panel right beside it: the week by project, phase and activity, with the clicked phase ready to edit. Single-activity phases fit on one line. Hours show to two decimals, and opening a cell without changing it no longer marks an edit. The capacity footer stays pinned at the bottom of the grid.

Saturday, June 27, 2026

  • New

    Revenue Forecasting

A new Revenue Forecasting page turns your staffing plan and contracts into a forecast. A firm curve tracks Planned, Earned, Invoiced and Paid, sized to your data, with range and month or quarter controls. Below it, a project list with filters, saved presets and grouping; each project opens to its curve, phases and a timeline. A Details tab shows monthly billing against remaining contract, capped for fixed fees.

  • New

Tag teammates when you log time

    ··

When you log time on My Schedule or in the Time panel, you can tag teammates who worked with you. Each gets an email and a CORE reminder, plus a "Shared with you" card on their My Schedule where they can adjust the hours, accept (which logs it to their own CORE timecard) or decline.

  • Improved

Sort, group and column tips on dashboard tables

The Studio Leader team roster now sorts and groups by role, and its columns, like those on A/R invoices, carry small info tips explaining what each one means. Grouped sections across the app share one look: a chevron header you click to collapse, and a Collapse all / Expand all button.

  • Improved

Sort the People and Projects lenses

On Resource Allocation, the People lens sorts by last name, first name or utilization, and the Projects lens by project number or name (or by client, manager or principal when grouped). Sort and the single Collapse all / Expand all button now sit right above the table on each lens, with the same grouping style as the rest of the app.

Friday, June 26, 2026

  • New

Refresh from CORE, and faster updates

    ·

A new Refresh from CORE button on the dashboard pulls your latest CORE data on demand. Edits made in CORE also now reach COREboards within a couple of minutes instead of waiting up to half an hour for the regular update.

  • Fixed

A crash shows a way back, not a blank page

If a screen fails to load, you now see a card with Try again, Reload and Reconnect options instead of a blank white page.

Thursday, June 25, 2026

  • New

Filter, group and save views on Resource Allocation

A Filters menu (project, client, project manager, studio leader, employee, role) and a Group control now work on every lens. Filter choices narrow each other, so you can't land on an empty result, and groups collapse. Save a filter combination as a preset, rename it, and set one as your default. The Projects lens can also group by employee, showing each person's projects.

  • Improved

    Heatmap and utilization bars

On the People lens, a Bar option draws a colored utilization bar under each week's hours. The Heatmap shades cells by load, can show hours, percent or both, and its hover card shows name, week, and hours against capacity. Cell text now grows with the text-size control.

  • Improved

    Hold or discard unpublished changes

The unpublished-changes review on Resource Allocation is now a table (employee, project, phase, week, hours). Hold a change to keep it out of the next publish, or delete it to put the cell back to its last published value. Also fixed: just clicking into a cell and out again no longer marks it as changed.

  • Improved

Projects lens is easier to scan

On the Projects lens, clicking anywhere on a project row expands it with all its phases open, and a collapsed project now shows its weekly hours so you can see which weeks have time planned. A separate link icon opens the project in CORE. A Compact rows option tightens the list.

  • Improved

Refreshing keeps you on the same screen

    ·

Reloading the page now brings you back to the view you were on (Resource Allocation, Action Center, Settings and so on) instead of the dashboard, and a docked side panel you left open no longer slides shut and open again. The Time panel also opens faster.

Wednesday, June 24, 2026

  • Improved

Log time for the whole current week

    ··

You can now log time on any day of the current week from your schedule, not just through today. Admins can also allow logging on future weeks with a new setting under Settings, Time entry (off by default). The log form also opens faster because its activities are already loaded.

  • Improved

    Schedule flags close the loop

    ··

When you flag a scheduling problem, it now reaches the phase manager (or the project manager, or your own manager), and both of you get an email with the other's phone and email. The flag resolves by itself as soon as the manager completes the matching to-do in BQE CORE, and you get an email when it does. Your flags list shows only open flags. Add your mobile number in Settings.

  • Fixed

Leaders with firm-wide access see the whole firm

On Resource Allocation, an admin or principal who is also a studio leader could see only their direct reports (sometimes just themselves) in the "All my roles" view. That view now shows the full firm for anyone with firm-wide access.

Tuesday, June 23, 2026

  • Improved

See a project's full phase tree

In Project Profitability, clicking a project now opens its whole structure as an indented tree (phase, sub-phase and deeper) with Cost, Value, Billed, WIP and A/R on each row, and a Collapse all / Expand all toggle. Clicking anywhere in a project's row works, even when its bar is tiny. Backlog now drills into the same kind of tree, showing each level's remaining contract.

  • Fixed

Invitation links now connect your firm

Invitation emails now actually arrive, and their link takes a new firm straight to connecting BQE CORE. Before, the link led to the regular sign-in, so an invited firm could approve access in CORE and still end up with no account and no explanation. Sign-in problems now show a plain-English message with the right next step.

Monday, June 22, 2026

  • New

Report bugs and ideas from inside COREboards

A new Bugs & Requests form, in the gear menu, lets anyone signed in report a bug, suggest a feature or ask a question, with screenshots attached. You can see your own past requests, you get an email receipt when you submit, and another when the status changes. Replying to those emails reaches a real person.

  • Improved

    Clearer board title and switcher

    ·

The name of the dashboard you are viewing is now a prominent page title, and switching boards opens a clean COREboards menu that marks the current board with a checkmark, replacing the plain browser drop-down.

  • Improved

Turn off the weekly staffing digest yourself

    ·

Each recipient can now stop the Monday staffing digest: use the new toggle in Settings, or the unsubscribe link in the email itself (no sign-in needed), and your mail app's built-in unsubscribe button works too. The digest is also now sent to each person individually, so recipients no longer see each other's addresses.

Sunday, June 21, 2026

  • New

Email a teammate about their to-do

    ·

From the Team To-Dos drawer you can send the assignee a formatted email with your note and an optional attachment. It includes a link to open the to-do in BQE CORE and a "Mark it complete" button that completes it in one click, no sign-in needed. Replies come back to you. Each row in the drawer also links straight to the to-do in CORE.

Saturday, June 20, 2026

  • New

Team To-Dos for managers and studio leaders

    ·

A new Team To-Dos tile on the Project Manager and Studio Leader boards shows overdue and open to-dos for your projects or your direct reports. Open it to search by person, filter by due date and employee status, and group up to three levels deep (employee, project, department, role, title). Add, edit or complete to-dos in place with a full form, including phase. Studio leaders also see each person's on-time trend.

  • Improved

    Add a to-do to a specific phase

When you click + on a project in My To-Dos, an "Add to" picker now lets you file the to-do against the whole project or any one of its phases, listed in CORE order. It defaults to the whole project, so nothing changes unless you pick a phase.

  • Improved

Logging time closes the form when saved

    ·

On My Schedule, saving a time entry now closes the log form instead of leaving it open and reset for another entry. The bar still grows in place to show the new hours, and adding another entry is one click on the bar.

Friday, June 19, 2026

  • New

Log time straight from My Schedule

    ·

Click a bar for this week in My Schedule to log time against that phase: the activity, day and remaining hours are filled in, with quick buttons for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours and a memo. The form stays open for your next entry, and new time shows at once and after refresh. CORE project rules apply, so the form tells you before you go over allocated hours.

  • Improved

Click a Collections month to see the detail

The Collections chart now labels billed (blue) and collected (green) in its tooltip. Click a month to see what was billed, by client, invoice and project, and where the cash came from, down to the invoices each payment paid, with links into CORE. Totals match the bars.

  • Improved

    Hide to-dos on finished projects

A new Status filter in My To-Dos shows to-dos on Active projects by default, hiding ones on completed, inactive or canceled projects until you choose to include them. To-dos linked to clients, employees and other records always show, and the project picker follows the same filter.

  • Improved

    KPI details made for phones

    ·

On a phone, the wide KPI details are now lists you tap to expand: receivables by client with overdue badges, Staff Utilization with a bar against target, Team Financials, Project Profitability, Backlog and My Hours by Project. No more sideways scrolling or hover-only numbers.

  • Improved

Link to-dos to any CORE record

Group My To-Dos by record type (projects, clients, employees and more), then by record. Add a to-do to any record with its + button, with optional assignee, due date, priority and memo. New to-dos can link to any record, including a project phase, and editing opens right under the to-do. Project template to-dos are left out.

  • Fixed

Editing a to-do keeps its link

Saving any change to a project to-do could quietly move its link from the project to the assignee. The link now changes only when you choose Change.

Thursday, June 18, 2026

  • New

    COREboards works on your phone

COREboards now fits an iPhone screen: a menu button opens navigation, KPI tiles and values fit two across, the Executive Brief starts collapsed, and KPI panels close from a reachable button. The header gives your firm name the room, and Privacy, Terms and Contact live in the menu.

  • New

    Plan staffing on your phone

    ·

On a phone, Resource Allocation drops the wide week grid. Tap a person or phase to open a list of weeks where you can type hours, choose or split activities, and mark drafts, all in place. The Heatmap shows each person's average load; tap to drill in.

  • New

    Subscribe to COREboards from Billing

Firm admins can open Billing from the gear menu to see their plan and subscribe monthly or annually. Manage billing lets you view invoices, update your card or cancel. COREboards emails you when a subscription starts and if a payment fails. Firms in the free beta can subscribe whenever they're ready.

  • Improved

    A calmer AI Advisor voice

AI Advisor headlines and briefs now read like a plain-spoken colleague: complete sentences, no slang or dramatic phrasing.

  • Improved

A cleaner header, left bar and menu

    ·

Your firm name now sits in the center of the top bar. The board title is itself the role switcher, and it reads Combined only if you have more than one board. The left bar highlights where you are, Ask AI is calmer until opened, and Sign out moved into the gear menu with Settings, Admin and Billing.

  • Improved

Flags reach managers, schedules show progress

    ··

Each row in My Schedule has its own flag button, prefilled with that project and week, and a bar showing planned hours filled by logged hours (overage in red). A flag now also emails the project's manager and sets a CORE reminder, and its to-do leads with your note instead of burying it.

  • Improved

Group My To-Dos by project or priority

Group your to-dos by project or priority, each group a collapsible card with a count, and collapse or expand them all at once. Your grouping is remembered.

  • Improved

Hide people with no planned hours

In the People view, Hide unused collapses everyone without planned hours or time off, so the few people you're planning stand out. Bring one person back with a search, or show all. Firm capacity totals still count everyone. Some notices can now be dismissed, and Unfilled role has a tooltip.

  • Fixed

    Completing a to-do now sticks

Checking off a to-do could make it vanish and reappear, and to-dos not tied to a project, or tied to a record CORE could no longer find, couldn't be completed or edited at all. Completions and edits now save, and you see a clear message if CORE rejects one.

Wednesday, June 17, 2026

  • New

    Ask AI about your firm

Ask AI, at the bottom of the left bar, opens a chat where you can ask plain questions about your firm ("cash is tight, what can I pull back on?") and get answers from your real CORE data, with follow-ups. Suggested actions can become CORE to-dos in one click. A History tab reopens past conversations, and the panel can be resized.

  • New

Studio Leader board for your team

    ·

The Studio Leader board now centers on your direct reports (the people whose CORE Manager is you), including yourself. The Team Financials tile shows each person's utilization, realization in dollars and margin; click a person for rates, leakage and breakdowns by project and activity. In Resource Allocation, studio leaders plan their team's hours on any project. Combined view shows these alongside your other tiles.

  • New

    Track and schedule performance reviews

    ·

A Reviews tile on the Studio Leader board lists who needs a review (overdue for your chosen cadence, excelling, or low on hours) and who is coming up, using CORE's HR reviews. Click Schedule to create a review in CORE right in the panel, with template, reviewer and dates. Upcoming reviews link to their CORE record.

  • Improved

Architect board focuses on your own hours

The Architect / Engineer board now shows only your own data; the firm-wide Staff Utilization table is gone from it. My Hours by Project groups time by project, and hovering a slice shows its share of the period and the split by phase.

  • Improved

Choose the activity as you type hours

Editing a week cell now lets you pick the activity right there, with Review week opening the full week panel. In that panel, each activity can be marked as a draft to keep it out of CORE while its other activities publish. The panel can be resized and is calmer, showing row controls and fee detail on hover and flagging only phases near or over budget.

  • Improved

    Faster, clearer date range changes

Changing the date range no longer briefly shows the old range's numbers under the new label, and your choice no longer snaps back to This week. Ranges now load faster because only the new period is fetched, ranges you've already viewed appear instantly, and a progress bar with a timer shows the load is working.

  • Improved

My Schedule opens as a side panel

My Schedule now opens from the left bar as a panel beside whatever you're working on. Hover or tap an activity to see its full name and scheduled versus logged hours for that week; logged hours show on any week that has them.

  • Improved

Set your own staffing color thresholds

    ·

Admins can now tune when Resource Allocation turns amber or red: workload bands, fee burn, phase budget remaining, and when Triage flags a plan-versus-actual gap. They're three new cards on the thresholds page in Settings. The defaults match how the board looked before.

  • Improved

Switch screens instantly; resize side panels

Dashboard, Actions and Resource Allocation now switch in place from the left bar without reloading the page, and switching between Time, To-Dos, My Schedule and Ask AI swaps the panel without closing it. Drag the edge of a side panel to widen it; each remembers its width. Opening a KPI panel no longer dims the side panel.

  • Fixed

AI keeps working for busy firms

Firms that had used a lot of AI in a month could get errors instead of an AI Advisor read or Executive Brief. Those firms now keep getting analysis without errors.

  • Fixed

Boards and time entry find you after CORE changes

    ·

If your employee record in CORE changed, your personal and manager boards could come up empty, and My allocations in the Time panel could list nothing even though Resource Allocation showed hours. COREboards now matches you to your current CORE record, and the Time panel includes every week CORE has you scheduled.

Tuesday, June 16, 2026

  • New

A personal brief for architects and engineers

    ·

Architects and engineers get Your Brief, an AI summary of what their managers expect this week (their staffing assignments and planned versus logged hours) plus their own hours and utilization trend. It shows on their dashboard and in the Action Center, with no firm financials.

  • Improved

    Resource Allocation remembers your view

The board reopens on the view you last used (People, Projects, Heatmap or Triage). Tooltips now open on tap as well as hover and no longer hide behind the table. The Projects view has one Expand or Collapse all toggle and frozen week headers, the Add person and Add work lists no longer get cut off, and the note about vendor allocations reads clearly.

  • Improved

Your chosen role carries across screens

    ··

The role you pick under Viewing as is remembered per firm and applies on the dashboard, Action Center and Resource Allocation. The Action Center shows only that role's KPIs, in dashboard order, and hides tasks about projects outside a manager's scope; its sections start collapsed with Expand all. It opens without reloading the page. People who can't edit staffing see a read-only view of their own allocations.

  • Fixed

Publish to CORE is fast and clean

Publishing could take minutes, time out, fail with conflicts, or leave duplicate allocations in CORE. Publish now writes one allocation per continuous run of weeks, changes only what you edited, and cleans up duplicates left by earlier runs. It shows live progress, stops spinning as soon as it's done, and tells you plainly if a publish was interrupted.

  • Fixed

    Resource Allocation loads reliably

On larger firms the board could fail to load, time out, or briefly show everyone as free after a busy publish. It now stays within CORE's request limits, loads in about 10 seconds instead of 40 on a first visit, shows Retry if a load stalls, and never shows an empty schedule in place of your real one. A sign-in error under heavy use (unable to get CORE token) is also fixed.

Monday, June 15, 2026

  • New

See budget impact while you staff

When you edit a person's week, each phase shows a meter of fee spent against the contract, with what's left or over, plus the internal budget and budgeted hours. A slimmer meter sums each project. Figures come from the project's CORE budget and its actual time entries, so they match CORE's Budget tab.

  • Improved

    Plan hours by activity

Planned hours now carry a CORE activity you choose, from the activities assigned to that phase, and that exact activity is published. A phase can hold several activities in the same week (say 2 hours of design and 3 of CAD). The Add work picker groups phases under their project like CORE, and a + activity button adds another activity to a phase. Changing a split total in the grid rescales each activity.

Sunday, June 14, 2026

  • New

    Heatmap view of firm-wide capacity

A new Heatmap view in Resource Allocation colors every person's load, week by week, for a quick firm-wide scan. Sort by most booked, most available or name, group by role, and see a firm load row for each week. Click a name to jump to that person, or click a cell to edit their week in a side panel and watch the colors update.

  • Fixed

Filter choices narrow the same way in any order

Picking a Principal and then a Project Manager could make your chosen Principal disappear from the list, because filters only narrowed each other in one direction. Now every filter narrows the others, never hides something you've already chosen, and the lists update the moment you pick, without waiting for the dashboard to reload.

Weekly staffing email for firm leaders

    ·

Every Monday, firm leaders receive an email with the staffing AI read and the Triage list, ready for the weekly staffing meeting. People can opt out, and replies go to your firm's admin.

  • Improved

One Filters button that shows what's applied

The filter bar is now the date range plus a single Filters button. The button shows the saved filter you're using (or Custom filters) with a count, and its menu starts with a summary of everything selected, then your saved filters, then the pickers. Saved filters can be renamed in place, and your filters are remembered when you reload.

  • New

    AI Advisor for staffing

    ·

The Triage view opens with an AI read of your staffing plan: who to move where, by name, hours and week; which over-fee phases to trim or take to a change order; and answers to your team's open flags. Its suggestions appear in the Action Center and can become CORE to-dos.

  • New

Flag a schedule problem and triage it Monday

    ·

From My Schedule, anyone can flag a phase and week (can't deliver, need more hours, conflict, or a question) with a message. The flag becomes a CORE to-do for the project's manager and lands in the new Triage view, which lists overbooked people, phases planned past their remaining fee, unfilled roles, active projects with no plan, and last week's plan versus actual.

  • New

    Make text bigger or smaller

Use the small A and large A buttons in the top bar to scale all of COREboards from 100% up to 130%. Your choice follows you to other devices. Small print in the Executive Brief and Action Center was also enlarged so it's readable at the standard size.

  • New

Resource Allocation: plan staffing by person and week

Resource Allocation shows who is planned on what, week by week. The People view compares each person's planned hours with capacity, allowing for approved time off and firm holidays; the Projects view shows phases with fee burn against contract. Leaders type hours into any week, mark them tentative, add placeholder roles, then Publish to CORE to write the plan as real allocations. Review lists every unpublished change before you publish.

  • Improved

Action Center works as a task inbox

Suggested actions, now called Tasks, show only what's pending. Each has a visible Dismiss button with Undo, and handled tasks tuck into a collapsed section you can restore from. Near-duplicate suggestions from different KPIs are grouped into one row. Completing a to-do in COREboards or in CORE marks the matching task done.

  • Improved

    Filter changes apply almost instantly

    ·

Changing a manager, principal, project or client filter now updates the dashboard in well under a second instead of pulling everything from CORE again, which could take a minute and then fail. If a refresh does fail, your current numbers stay on screen with a notice instead of an error page.

  • Improved

Receivables grouped by client, with filters

The invoice list in the Accounts Receivable panel now groups by client and project with subtotals, like CORE's Collection view, and client groups collapse with one toggle for all. Filter the list by client, project, manager or principal; each filter only offers choices that still have invoices. Phases appear in CORE order, and the list now loads in a couple of seconds instead of up to a minute.

  • Improved

Side panels stay open as you move around

    ·

Every signed-in page now shares the same header, left bar and footer. Opening Settings, Admin, Privacy or Terms swaps only the main content, so an open Time or To-Dos panel stays put instead of closing and reopening, and you can switch between panels directly. The old standalone timecard page now opens the dashboard with the Time panel open.

Action Center: every AI suggestion in one place

    ·

A new Action Center tab gathers the full Executive Brief and every KPI's suggested actions, and keeps them when you change the date range. Add any action to BQE CORE as a to-do linked to the client or project it concerns; it appears in your To-Dos panel right away. A strip at the top counts this month's analyses, suggestions, completions and to-dos created. KPI tiles now stay pinned as you scroll.

  • Improved

Admin access is its own checkbox

In Admin, dashboards and admin access are now separate: assign each person their dashboards, and tick Admin for those who manage users. COREboards blocks any change that would leave your firm with no admin. Role changes take effect on the person's next page load, and Firm Admin no longer appears as a dashboard of its own.

  • Improved

Open a project in CORE from Backlog

    ·

Click a project in the Backlog chart to open its Project Structure screen in BQE CORE in a new tab, on your own firm's CORE site. If links stop working because CORE moved your firm, the Backlog panel warns you and an admin can fix it in Settings by pasting any working CORE address.

AI Advisor for every KPI, plus an Executive Brief

    ·

Turn on the AI Advisor switch in the filter bar and each KPI panel gains a plain-English read of that number: what's happening, patterns worth noticing, and a checklist of next steps naming specific clients, projects and amounts. An Executive Brief summarizes every KPI on your board. The switch is off by default and remembered per person. Checked-off steps stay checked when the analysis refreshes.

  • New

Click an aging bar to see its invoices

In the Accounts Receivable panel, click any aging bar to list that bucket's open invoices: project, invoice number and date, net billed, paid, balance, retainer available, days overdue, and the client's contact with a click-to-call phone number. Each invoice opens its PDF in CORE and can take a note. Invoices covering several phases show the whole project with an expandable phase breakdown.

  • New

    Client filter and saved filters

Filter the dashboard by client as well as by manager, principal and project; the client filter also applies to the receivables panel and the AI Advisor. Save any combination of filters under a name, pick it later in one click, and mark one as your default so it applies every time you open the dashboard. Saved filters are private to you.

  • New

Manage your CORE to-dos inside COREboards

A To-Dos panel on the left lists your open BQE CORE to-dos. Mark them complete, create new ones, or edit dates, description, memo, assignee, priority, percent complete and status, all saved straight to CORE. It sits beside the time panel, one open at a time.

  • Improved

Project Profitability as a chart you can drill into

The Project Profitability panel is now a chart of gains and losses by project instead of an 11-column table. Choose Accrual (value of work performed minus cost) or Cash (billed minus cost), and This period or All dates, which matches CORE's project-to-date figures. Click a project to see its phases; hover a phase for cost, value, billed, WIP and A/R. Projects with no activity are hidden until you choose to show them.

  • Improved

    Dashboard opens faster

    ·

Instead of a blank loading screen, the dashboard shows its layout right away and fills in the tiles as the numbers arrive. Returning to the dashboard or reloading it now shows your recent numbers almost instantly while they refresh in the background, and first loads pull from CORE much faster.

  • Improved

Overhead and Marketing projects left out of project metrics

Internal projects set up in CORE as Overhead or Marketing no longer distort Project Profitability, Backlog, project counts or the project filter. Accounts Receivable and Collections still include them, since those are based on invoices.

Monday, June 8, 2026

  • New

Log time from a side panel

Log time to BQE CORE from a panel that slides out beside the dashboard. The project list shows the phases you're allocated to for the chosen day, with a My allocations switch to see every project instead. Activities are limited to what CORE assigns to each phase, just as in CORE, and the project and activity lists are searchable.

  • New

Work your sales pipeline without leaving COREboards

In the Sales Pipeline panel you can move an opportunity to a new stage, add a note, or add a follow-up, and it saves to BQE CORE. Each opportunity has Note and Follow-up buttons that open the add form plus that opportunity's history, newest first. Mark a follow-up done, or undo it if you clicked by mistake.

  • Fixed

    Backlog now matches CORE's Remaining

Backlog could show nearly a project's full contract, or count some work twice, because it didn't measure earned work the way CORE does. Each project and phase now matches CORE's Remaining figure, counting work billed before your chosen date range and leaving reimbursable expenses out. Over-billed phases no longer hide a gap: a note explains any difference between the total and the visible rows.

Saturday, June 6, 2026

  • Improved

Backlog by project status and phase

Backlog counts only Active projects by default, with a status filter listing just the statuses your projects actually use. Hover a project's bar to see its remaining contract broken down by phase, including nested groups like Basic Services or Consultants, in your CORE phase order. Long project names no longer wrap over the chart.

  • Improved

Color-coded KPI tiles with thresholds you set

    ·

The dashboard is now a grid of compact tiles, one per KPI, each showing the headline number, a one-line reason it matters, and a red, amber or green status. Tiles that need attention sort to the top under a banner that counts them (or reads all clear). Click a tile to open its full chart or table in a panel. Admins can tune the thresholds behind the colors in Settings.

  • Fixed

Reconnect now actually reconnects your firm

When a firm's connection to BQE CORE went bad, the dashboard showed a Reconnect link that only signed you in again, so the error never cleared. Reconnect now renews your firm's connection to CORE, and connecting always asks you to sign in fresh and choose the company, so data loads again.

  • New

A live firm dashboard on your BQE CORE data

COREboards launched with a dashboard built from your BQE CORE data: Accounts Receivable aging, WIP, Staff Utilization and Project Profitability, with phases rolled up under their parent projects in CORE's phase order. Pick a date range (this week, last month, year to date, custom and more) and filter by Project Manager, Principal or project; every section and total follows your filters. Profitability switches between an earned-value view and a billed-and-collected view.

  • New

Role-specific widgets: hours, collections, backlog, pipeline

Boards now carry widgets made for each role. Architects and engineers see My Hours This Week (hours against standard, billable share, a daily chart) and My Hours by Project. CFOs and Principals get Collections, billed versus collected by month. Principals also get Backlog (remaining contract value by project) and a Sales Pipeline summary grouped by stage with a probability-weighted forecast.

  • New

Sign in with CORE and get a board for your role

    ··

Your whole firm can sign in with their BQE CORE login. Each person sees the dashboard for their role (Principal, CFO, Project Manager, Studio Leader, Architect / Engineer), and people who wear several hats can switch between boards. Admins map CORE security profiles to roles, and people without financial access see their board with dollar figures hidden.
